We stayed at Riad Ineslisa from 19/03/12 - 24/03/12 and found it was a really relaxing place away from the hustle and bustle of Marrakesh. The Riad itself was lovely and homely, with fresh flowers dotted throughout. When we arrived Khalid gave us a map and showed us where everything was, even drawing on the map, that was a big help as it is full of dead ends. He even made us mint tea out of generosity and expected no money in return. The breakfasts were lovely, with pancakes, madeira cake and fresh orange. There are local 'stores' around the corner from the riad where you can buy bottles of water (a big bottle cost 6 Dirhams), fizzy juice, crisps and sweets. The riad is only a five minute walk from the souks which are amazing, and a 15 minute walk to the square.
The only problem we had was when we first arrived and the taxi driver left us with a local boy who showed us to the door and expected to be paid. We didnt have any change and just had english change, they took that after a disagreement. It is not the fault of the riad, it is just a pre-warning if someone wants to give you help (nothing is for free n the streets of morocco).
The Riad Ineslisa is a fabulous place to stay and i strongly recommend it!

The operators of this Riad are so welcoming and accommodating!

The Riad itself is fine, 4 ensuite rooms over two levels. The only issue is that the traditional style bathrooms do not have a door, leaving the bathroom and toilet open into the bedroom.

On our last night we were moved to a room with a door on the bathroom, the owners said this was to accommodate the guests that were due to arrive the day after we left (we were in a double, and were moved to a triple). So if the lack of a door would be an issue for you I suggest contacting the Riad to confirm.

The location of the Riad is fine, 10-15 min walk from the main square. The distance allows the Riad to be peaceful (apart from the call to prayer, which is lovely once you get used to it).

Breakfast is served fresh each morning, delicious assortment of Moroccan pancakes, bread, pastry, coffee and juice. Great relaxed start to the day in either the lounge area or the roof top.

The one issue is the local children. We arranged a transfer from the airport to the Riad and for whatever reason the taxi driver dropped us at the end of the road (around 200m from Riad front door) and got a local boy to show us the way. He asked for a "small gift" and when we offered around £3 we were told by the boy that it was not enough and he would be back later for more money. We told him to take the money as he would not be getting any more. Reluctantly he accepted the money and said he would be back later.
During check we were asked if we paid the boy, and how much. Despite it not being the fault of the Riad the money was offered to be refunded.
The "small gift" became a common theme throughout our trip in Marrakesh, and no matter how much you offer it was never enough.

The day we were leaving we had an evening flight, and as our room was not due to be occupied until late that night we were able to keep the room the whole day at no extra charge.

We were quite ill during our stay and the operators of the Riad were fantastic. Their hospitality made our trip to Morocco!!

Room Tip: Request a room with a door on the bathroom

This is a small Riad, with just 4 rooms. This of course means that you soon get to know the other quests and you become a family!
The roof terrace is great in the sun,and you can see and hear the local life.
The rooms are ok, but can be a bit cold in the winter months, but i would expect them to be ideal in the heat of the summer. Please but dont be put off by the call to prayer, as the mosque is just over the road.
Staff very nice and helpful

Just got back from Morocco on 10/03/2012.
Riad Ineslisa is very clean, a bit difficult to find at the beginning.
The worst thing is the dishonest of the boss/manager.
He persuaded us to have evening meal for 50 DH per person in the Riad. To confirm, he said five-o per person. It was a lovely meal, when I tried to pay him, he want me to pay on the last day. We had meals on the 05/03/2012 ;06/03/2012 and 09/03/2012.
When i paid him 300 DH , he said we had agreed to be paid 15 Euro for 2 meals per day.
I was shocked and felt betrayed.
I had to ask him the exchange rate for euro in DM which he said is 1 :10.
We had to pay him 450 DM and he refused to give me a receipt.
My holiday had been ruin by him and I will never go to morocco again.

Room Tip: Ask the price in writing and signature. The heater is located above our bed, and is very noisy on and aff.

I allow myself as manager and owner of Riad Ineslisa to answer your negative comments and especially the dishonesty of my staff.
For 6 years we receive from customers and this is the first time we have to face this kind of event.
I suppose that before coming to our house you visited the website which states that the menus are served on request at 15 euros per person.
I think you misunderstood what you said Abdelhi and certainly used to believe that a menu especially for you, could cost 50 dirhams (which is 4.5 euros per person), the question you have ...
When the exchange, because it would have taken you to count 1 euro = 11 dirhams which you would have to pay more! ...
I ask myself the question of who in this case is in bad faith ...
This is unfortunate for you to be left Morocco on a negative impression.
We are all sorry because we make every effort to ensure that our customers are satisfied with their stay ...

This was a lovely place to stay. Just a short walk to the main square and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It felt like a home from home. It only has 4 rooms and this meant that it was easy to get to know the other people staying there as well. Lovely roof terrace.
