“Fabulous in Every Way!”

Don't hesitate to make a reservation at this stunning Riad. Great location away from the tourists, but within walking distance to markets and sights, tasteful accommodations with all the amenities of an upscale boutique hotel, including an excellent breakfast on the rooftop terrace. However, the best treat was the owner, David, his staff and friend, Albert. They went beyond the role of hoteliers and addressed all our needs and concerns. We would have been lost - literally - without them, and instead we had an easy, memorable, enriching stay. Five Star Plus!

Room Tip: Photos on Tripadvisor and the Riad's website are accurate. Delightful and exotic; clean and com...

The five stars are spot on, the Aguaviva is an outstanding Riad. And as others have pointed out, it is the staff (Jana, Sylvia, Simon) who make it great--Muchas gracias---and so much better than a hotel. My wife and I joined our daughter for a Moroccan adventure and Marrakech was the southern point. The nice thing about the location is one fully experiences the sights and sounds of the medina as they walk to the Djema El Fna via narrow busy streets, the covered alleys, and the innumerable souks. Returning to the Riad (by taxi, bus, or on foot) is like coming to your home away home (Jana is very clear on this point, "it is your home" ). The rooms are clean, modern, and comfortable. Getting to the Riad the first time can be challenging if one has never been there, and a call to them when you are in the immediate vicinity is a must (alternatively, you can arrange for a pick up). There are day trips out of the city, and the staff is very good at making arrangements. Breakfast on the roof top was always fantastic. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: There is no spa or fitness center, checked by mistake. The rooms are thematic, so check online to c...

My parents and I stayed at Riad Aguaviva for four nights at the end of our round-the-country dash. Riad Aguaviva was hands down the nicest place we stayed, both for the people and for the rooms and riad themselves. Jana, Sylvia and Simon were our exceedingly gracious hosts, and we had the Riad to ourselves. It was delightful. Over breakfast on the roof terrace, Jana would give us our 'homework' for the day, and some of the best maps I've ever seen describing where to go and how to get there (extremely important, even if Marrakech isn't the labyrinth that Fes is). We came home every afternoon to stick our feet in the pool, drink water, and chat with Sylvia and Jana again, and delight in the lovely Riad. Then out again, following their advice (FOLLOW THEIR ADVICE!) for delicious dinner. Truly a wonderful experience.

Room Tip: All the rooms are themed - pick the one that suits you best!

Loved the entrance...after going under a building and through a tunnel, down narrow alleys, you will open this mysterious door to an absolutely stunning Riad! And most importantly the people are truly amazing!!! It started with an incredibly warm welcome from Manel and Oti! David's insider's views actually changed our entire trip for the better! He quickly understood who we were and what would be best for us. His honesty, creativity and ideas were such a gift to us! I can't say enough about all of it! The people, the food, the ambiance doesn't get better. Thank you all and especially David for our GORGEOUS portraits that we will cherish forever!

Room Tip: You can't go wrong with the rooms, they are amazing! Just know that Africa has two twins...

What has made it really the best hotel I've ever been to is not the wonderful place itself (which is amazing), but specially the team there. They welcomed us and showed the city as if they were our own family. They helped us see the best places in the city addapting themselves to our few time by showing them to us themselves. We stayed just for three days in which we saw the best places in Marrakech, which are hidden to tourists, thanks to them. If you go to a hotel, get the keys and go, you never get to see this beautiful city, since everything seems to be hidden in Marrakech. But they know the place, even the people, and they tell you exactly what you have to visit according to your whishes. I will never forget those long conversations whith them and their kindness and patience. On the other hand, the hotel is a wonderful place, decorated in the traditional Moroccan style where you can feel comfortable. When you enter the Aguaviva, you feel like home.

Room Tip: All rooms are wonderful

We were a little apprehensive about how we would get on in Marrakech but our fears were soon allayed when we met David, Manel, Oti and Simo. Their care, thoughtfulness and knowledge of the city helped us to do the things we wanted to, many of which we would have really struggled to guide ourselves to without David’s excellent maps. Breakfast on the sunny terrace was always something to look forward to, with an array of choices, and we knew that if we wanted somewhere great to eat in the evening, David, Manel and Oti would be able to offer advice and reserve us a table. The Riad soon began to feel like a home from home for us and it’s a place we hope to go back to someday; it’s an excellent base for independent travellers who want to see the real Marrakech. We would not have enjoyed Marrakech nearly so much without the hospitality of the Riad Aguaviva team. The Riad itself is stunningly beautiful and an oasis of calm, which was definitely needed after a day in the city. Highly recommended.

We arrived on an evening flight for our 3 day stay and we were greeted so warmly at the Riad. We had arranged an authentic Moroccan meal on our arrival and from the very start our experience at the Riad Aguaviva became personal and bespoke .... within moments we were experiencing traditional Marrakech and were invited to go to the (very) local Hammam to collect our meat for the Tanjia. Cooked on an open fire it exceeded all expectations. David, Manel, Simon and Oti (excuse the spelling?!) could not have done more for our party of 7, especially as my brother is registered blind and my eldery mother was not too well. The care and attention we received was genuine and thoughtful. We cannot thank you enough.

Room Tip: Smara and Sultan were our favourite rooms - although all are lovely in their own way! Africa is poss...
