“Lovely pool and garden”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 27, 2014

I liked the garden and pool. A nice place to relax away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Breakfast buffet was good with plenty of options though no vegetables. I tried the buffet dinner one night as I was too tired to walk to city and it was very good except for dessert which was less a than average. Wifi was excellent for one day but I kept having problems connecting to room wifi but lobby wifi was working well (never had this problem with my iPhone before).

Wifi problems: although staff on the second day came and resolved wifi room connection problem. But the next day, as I walked to lobby, it wouldn't re- connect to room again (but I didn't bother as I was leaving). I also saw one dead cockroach in bathroom on last day!

A really good location, near the Koutoubia, with swimming pool (very important in summer time) and and excellent freakfast to eat as much as you can and face a hard sigthseeing day. Place Jemaa Fna within walking distance....i would repeat

Great location as it is very close to the square (old town) and also new town.
Taxis are always easy to get from the hotel, 50 Dirham to/ from new town. 70 Dirham to/ from airport (although they will tell you its 200! - Don't pay more than 70!)
Great pool out the back and they do snacks (Panini's, chips, burgers, pizza, salads) but they don't do evening meals.
Like all places they only do bottled beer. 25 Dirham for Flag beer, 17 Dirham Coke/ Sprite, 70 Dirham Panini and chips.
For the money its a great hotel with everything you will want from your holiday.

Room Tip: Don't get one by the pool as you may hear the prayer alarm at all hours of the day.

This is no way a 4 star hotel. As soon as we arrived we knew it was going to be a holiday that we would not enjoy. The reception staff were unhelpful and arrogant as we were not french speakers, there was no explanation of where anything was, such as the breakfast or what time it was served, no map of the area or excursions on offer. Everything was written in French so we had to work things out for ourselves. The rooms look nothing like the pictures and the tv had nothing but french and Arabic. I can confidently say that avoid this hotel completely.

Cheap "4 star" hotel.....probably realistic to say a low 3 star BUT don't be deterred.....

We paid about £120 for 3 nights inc breakfast. The room was clean and spacious, the pool an gardens are well kept and the restaurant is simple. The hotel is just very tired.

The location of this hotel is PERFECT for everything. Jamaa el fnar (the market square) only a 5 minute walk away, and 10 mins to the airport by car.

The biggest downside to this hotel is the staff only speak French so if you don't, be prepared for a lot of charades games to get what you need/want. This said, they were all very helpful and friendly. If you have a baby with you, like we did, you will want for nothing!

Be warned that since the hotel is so central, there's a prayer calling siren that goes off every 4-6 hours even at 3am but I suspect you would hear it wherever you stay.

The food is simple an menu again only in French, the cost for everything in marrakech (not just the hotel) is on par with British pounds so be warned....you need loads of money!

I read all the bad reviews and still booked this hotel due it's location and how lovely the gardens and pool area looked in the pictures. They do look nice, but the rooms do not look like the pictures.
All the bad reviews were correct, the service was terrible at the front desk. No welcome, no map about the local area, we weren't even told where breakfast was and at what time, never mind how to access the free wifi.
Our first room was awful, on the ground floor, not secure at all, with an old fashioned lock on a very heavy keyring. The loo didn't flush. The shower head had no hook to hang from. There were mosquito's in the room. The hotel was built in 1971 and only bare minimal maintenance has been carried out.
Fortunately they moved us the next morning, after our second request. The room was better although the security was still worrying as the patio door had a very simple handle. It was clean and functional. The safe did not work.
Breakfast. As previous reviews, tables were not relaid after previous guests. Cutlery was always missing. Everything was self service including getting your own cutlery, salt & pepper, napkins etc. Ate cereal with a teaspoon. Fortunately we found a lovely lady who made made delicious fresh pancakes and we stuck to that. The scrambled eggs were extremely runny, bacon was virtually non existent. Bread was hard as a rock and there were ants around it one day.
Because no-one really spoke English it was hard to ask for anything.
It was very difficult to communicate with any of the staff as their English was very limited. However some waiters did try.
The bar was good, the staff were ok once you got to know them but they did not really wait on you, but they seemed happy to wait on the French guests.
The pool area was nice and there were always sunbeds available.
The lunch was actually ok - pretty standard med type food, if you can get the waiters to understand you.
Evening meal buffet was mediocure so we only ate there once. We noticed lots of people coming out with loads of desserts before they ran out.
There was some entertainment in the evenings, but again in French and all the notices were in French too.

This hotel caters mainly for a tour operator from France, therefore loads of French guests. If you can speak french and mingle with them then this is an ok hotel to stay in due to it's excellent location, 5 minutes walk to the Djeema El Fna Square.
However, we walked around Marrakesh and found plenty of other nicer hotel, they may be a bit further from the Square but taxi's are very cheap and you probably won't want to go to the square every day anyway.

In conclusion, only stay here if you speak French and can cope with poor service.
They don't care about the English guests.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are pretty much the same, don't stay on the ground floor.

2nd Time in Marrakech, 1st time we stayed in a Riad so we opted for a hotel as we were women in a group of 4. The location is great, jut behind the The Koutoubia Mosque, this meant we couldn't get lost as you can't miss it towering above the city. The hotel is Typically French, we were the only English in the hotel at the time, this was not a problem apart from trying to communicate with the staff at breakfast. The rooms are very basic, we had a nice garden view balcony to sit out on, 2 double beds and a really clean bathroom. Maid came in every day and she was really nice. The Breakfast was really good, lots of different breads, pastries, meat, cheese, yogurt, pancakes, eggs, something for everyone. You can change your money in the hotel, it is the same as most of the exchanges in the Medina, 5 min walk though the Mosque Gardens to the main square, follow the sound of the snake charmers and u can't go wrong. 5am is the call to Prayer, we heard it the 1st morning but after that we were just used to is and slept right through. This hotel has a bar, it has a nice pool and free WIFI, I would recommend this hotel to anyone, good value for money, would stay there again

Room Tip: I think all the rooms are much of a muchness, we were on the 2nd floor and it was fine
