On Mohammed V Blvd, across from the central Mosque and near the entrance to the central square, we found an enjoyable break from the traditional Moroccan fare, which made us feel at home. We had been enjoying Moroccan food for two weeks, and while we enjoyed the local food, we were ready for a change. We discovered this Italian restaurant at around 1PM in the afternoon. It appeared busy when we were there, with both a tour group and individual diners.
The two of us shared a pizza with onions and mushrooms. The pizza had thin crispy crust, which we like, and this made us feel at home. Pizza with toppings was 60 dirhams, and we each had a soda at 18 dirhams each. Service was friendly and prompt, and included complimentary olives and bread basket. Pepper oil was served with the pizza on the side. There were two main rooms to the restaurant. The back dining room had the bar and the wood burning ovens. The restaurant was quite clean, including the rest rooms. They were also willing to take dollars, should you be out of dirhams. Should you be looking for a relaxing change of pace, stop by. It was a relaxing air conditioned environment, which we were ready for after a morning of sightseeing and walking through the city. The pizza was just what we were looking for, and we felt it to be of the type we enjoy in the US. Give it a try should you be in the area of the central square.
