Let's start with the positive. The rooms are big and kept very clean. The location is very close to the main square. The majority of staff are very sweet and helpful. The breakfast was plentiful and you can eat up to 10.30am by the pool or 12 in your room.
Now lets start with the negatives. We were staying for a week and told an upgrade with 24 hour butler service and complimentary newspapers. 24 hour butler service actually means 24 hour room service which most, even budget hotels offer. As for an English newspaper, I got one, and my friend got 2 over 7 days. I asked about 5 times and got a different excuse every time from reception, from they are coming, they are here and being taken to your room later, to we cannot get English papers as the other hotels get them first(you can buy every English newspaper in the square 5 minutes away) unless you read La Monde , forget it. They have a huge TV in your room with about 4 in English, not that I go away to watch TV but a little something before I retire in English would be good. Even in Nepal I got US films.
The pool looked lovely but filled with French families and loads of screaming children, one thing I avoid on holiday. Pool service is random but discovered if you tip a little each time you get better service.
I know that hotels are more pricey for drinks, but 6 Euros for a local stubby bottle of beer makes it more expensive than Hong Kong. Their is no alcohol in your mini bar despite it being served in bar and restaurant. No tea or coffee making facilities in your room.
The guide booked on our first day lied about time and money, we had to complain to concierge , you was apologetic and promised to get some of our money back and I must admit she did ensure the guide for the Atlas Mountains was amazing.
You have to pay for hotel to airport transfers(this is supposed to be 5 star) they forgot to book our car going back so we had to get a local taxi.
I travel the world 3 times a year and stay in very nice hotels. This claims to be 5 star but sadly service is more like 3 stars. 310 euros a night and me and my friend had a room each for 7 nights. If you go around the corner to this hotel to Maison De arabes around the corner you get antique Moroccan furniture, English speaking staff for half the price, I could have cried when we went their for a drink, that is where I will go back to. This hotel if you are English are made to feel third class. We have a saying in England "all fur coat and no nickers" that sadly is what this hotel is. It tries to be classy but just does not know how. I would not recommend this hotel.
