“The perfect break”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 20, 2010

Wow..... What a place…. The website does not do Riad Zamzam justice, however it would be impossible to encapsulate the beauty and immaculate detail of the riad without actually experiencing it in person.

Riad Zamzam feels very much like a friend’s home rather than just another boutique hotel. The decor is awesome, as is the service. It provides the perfect oasis from the hectic Medina.

My partner and I spent 6 nights in the riad as part of The Journey of Awakening Reikki and Yoga Retreat. The retreat was a perfect way to see Marrakech. As well as the Yoga and Reikki, we explored the city and the souks, spent a day in the Atlas Mountains and also a day in the Moroccan desert – which included a breathtaking hack through the desert. I even managed to fit in a round of golf whilst my wife shopped – a very good trade off!

The retreat offered a really good mix of exercise, relaxation and culture. On our retreat there were friends, couples and a mother and son. The yoga was challenging and very rewarding but not too advanced for beginners to get involved and feel great progress. The Reikki complimented the yoga and the excursions, especially the meditation in the Atlas Mountains.

The owners have great taste and style and should be very proud of what they have created. An amazing boutique hotel with a truly relaxing homely feel.

A great holiday which I would recommend to anybody. The retreat was excellent as was everything about the hotel.

Zam Zam Riad is the most incredible place to spend your time in Marrakech and if you are reading this review, trying to plan your own trip to Morocco, I would 100% recommend it. You will not be disappointed.
Situated right in the middle of the bustling Medina where everything runs at the exciting pace of souk sellers, mopeds and street sellers, ZamZam is smack bang amoungst it all... And yet, the second you step in through the front door the hectic sights, sounds and smells of Marrakech city life just melt away. This riad has the most calming, warm and friendly energy of anywhere I have ever stayed. It is small enough that you are most definitely able to feel the benefits of personalised care and attention from the staff, and big enough for everything still to be done in a professional manner. They really have hit the nail on the head with a perfect balance.
It is clear that the owners of this riad take great care and personal pride in making sure that their guests have the best possible stay they can.
The bedrooms are beautifully decorated and furnished, the beds are comfy.
The food was to die for, I believe they do a cookery course there if requested and I can see why. Ever since I have got back I have wanted to know how I can make my food as good as i had it there!
The hammam and massage was also brilliant! I had never had a hammam before and it was quite an experience! I had mine as part of the package I booked (i was on a wonderfully organised reiki and yoga retreat there) but i loved it so much I wanted one the next day too. The cost was very reasonable for such a luxurious and relaxing ttreatment. It would have cost a lot more in the UK!!

All in all, my stay from beginning to end at ZamZam was an absolute pleasure and I really hope to go back. I would not stay anywhere else in Marrakech. Please go and see for yourself!

THANK YOU ZAMZAM RIAD! I LOVED IT!!!

It feels like staying at someone's home….as a very welcomed gust. Every whim has been attended for. I stayed in Harem Suite…comfortable mattress and pillows, clean sheets and very cozy atmosphere. It's tucked away from the beaten track in a narrow alley inaccessible by car. You need very good sense of direction to navigate your way to and from the premise. Otherwise, the Riad's staff at your disposal to guide you whenever you decide to venture out, which was my case as I couldn't manage to walk by myself during my five days. I felt spoiled... but that's my personal choice, I guess.
Oh and the breakfast was served whenever I wanted...even at noon...
Emma and Marcus are angles. Thank you. Keep it up and good luck.

Zamzam Riad was friendly, helpful and fun from the moment we landed in Marrakech. All the staff are warm and have great tips. The food was terrific. The rooms were comfortable and very beautiful. The whole building is really charming. It is right in the Marrakech Medina, but once inside its like an oasis of calm away from the hustle and bustle.

As soon as I walked into this luxurious riad I immediately felt tranquil, away from the busy roads and souks.

The food was very tasty and well presented!

The riad had amazing views from the top terrace looking over at the Atlas mountains and the old town houses.

The rooms were beautifully styled giving you a morrocon feel and comfort!

Staff were superb in keeping us well fed and watered to organising excursions for us.

To summarise- A beautiful, comfortable riad I would definately recommend to anyone looking to visit Marrakech.

On my trip to Marrakesh I stayed at the Riad Zam Zam for 3 wonderful nights! It was such a beautiful and relaxing escape from the busy streets of the medina souqs. The staff were helpful and kind, the decor stunning and the food superb. All in all the best place i stayed throughout Morocco. I truely reccomend it!
