“A truly amazing and relaxing place!”
Reviewed May 3, 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We went as four adults and we contacted the manager (Nezha) via email. She was quick with her replies and she offered this Riad, as an alternative to the original Riad we booked due to this one being more centrally based. We also booked their private driver from the airport to the Riad due to our arrival in Marrakech being late.

The Riad was around 10 minutes by the Jamaa el Fna (the main square) was around 15-20 minutes walk. The Riad also offers local excursions and also the Atlas Mountains, but we decided to venture out ourselves,

Hassan, who was looking after us, made us feel at home and he gave us good tips and a guide of what to expect in Marrakesh. We arrived and was greeted with their local cakes and mint tea, before we set out to Jamaa el Fna for the night life.

The Riad itself didn't look like much from the outside, but once we went inside it was beautiful, a lot nicer than expected. We were told that it was refurbished in February. The rooms were very comfortable and we all had a good night sleep. The rooms were cleaned every day and there are locks on the wardrobes for your personal belongings.

We had breakfast every morning, and we had fresh bakery, juice, yoghurt and coffee and we could chose where we wanted our breakfast.

We had dinner there too and we had the most amazing tagine served with their local bread. The chicken was very tender and tasty!

My sister was unwell on the last day, and despite checking out, the manager allowed her to stay in our room until we left for the airport. It was great customer service. I would definitely recommend this Riad.

“Great”
Reviewed July 26, 2014 for a stay in September 2013

My girlfriend and I stayed here for two weeks a year ago. It was great value for money. Our room was nice, comfy bed and the air-con was great. Mohammed was very helpful and helped us booking excursions at a reasonable price and cooked us both food when I was ill. Breakfast was very good and consisted of coffee, juice, croisants and savoury bread. The room was cleaned every day to a good standard and the airport transfer was spot on also. Mohammed also provided useful information about how much is reasonable to pay for things in the souks (useful for bartering)

Riad Awinati was brilliant - Joelle, the owner, made sure we were comfortable, helped us navigate Marrakech and contacted our next riad by phone to make sure we had directions. The dinner we had at the riad was really great and breakfast was always fab. Highly recommended.

“Really great !”
Reviewed May 3, 2013 for a stay in April 2013

The Riad Awinati impressive presents a very successful combination of oriental ambience with oriental hospitality. The tasteful decor of the rooms offers everything makes it a pleasant stay: comfortable bed, a reasonable sanitary and air conditioning. Within the riad is perfectly shielded from external noise of the street.

The hospitality of the house by Madam Fathia completes the whole from impressive. Their culinary skills conjure up dishes on the table that should be enjoyed absolutely.

The breakfast alone is legendary: bread, croissants, homemade cakes, pancakes and yogurt, cream cheese, jam, honey, fruit salad, eggs (if desired), coffee, tea, juice and almost everything what the guest wants.

During our time there, Jaques was responsible for the logistics of the hotel and cared for us very friendly. In addition, he offered himself as guide and city guide. Through its local knowledge and charming way we may make some memorable trips Marrakech.

The spatial position of the Riad's is perfect, right in the Kasbha one is always confronted with normal life and to other sites is not far (either on foot or by a kalesh).

Highly recommended!

“Great value, comfortable and great staff”

Booked this riad because the price was reasonable for a solo traveler and was pleasantly surprised because it is really great value for your money. The staff was very polite and helpful, breakfast was great, loved the fried egg every morning. I stayed in the Turquoise room, it was very basic , nothing fancy but very comfortable, the shower head needs to be replaced but I was able to take a hot shower every morning. I liked that the riad is in the Kasbah, it was only a 15-20 walk to the main square but it felt like real life in the neighborhood and not just stuff purely for tourists. I passed the same shops and people everyday and became friendly with a few.

My wife and I thought this riad was pretty amazing. The workers that included Hyatt and Yassin were amazing. I think without them the experience would have been dull. They were quick to solve issues and spoke good clear english. I would highly recommend this riad.

My boyfriend and I spent 3 lovely nights, located in the heart of the Kasbah with all the charachter and life of Marrakech. Once you get to know the route its a good 15 minutes walk but well worth the experience, you get to see the really side of Marrakech. The owner helped us with Taxi transfers etc and was a lovely lady who also served a very nice breakfast up on the terrace.
