Description: Ideally located in the heart of Gueliz, this elegant restaurant gets back in touch with the authentic living ambiences of Marrakesh. The decor is in complete harmony with the Moroccan culture: it offers a pub, Moorish, and colonial spirit. The Grand Cafe de la Poste offers a French cuisine with Mediterranean accents.

After being told we must go, we were excited to be " in the most fashionable restaurant where all the ex pats congregate!! We were very disappointed! Think Cafe Rouge (restaurant chain in UK) and you will get the idea! food was fine, not a huge menu so was a little difficult to find something to eat also! When the food came, it was fine, but definately not what we had expected after all the hype! This, as with most the restaurants we visited were very overated, but being from London maybe we are spoilt, and this is good for Morrocco!!

Le Grand Cafe de la Poste takes you back to the glamourous 1920s and makes for at great contrast to the old town. We went for pre-dinner cocktails which include a snack buffet which was worth every dirham.

We enjoyed a few drinks here in the late afternoon. The place is a nice oasis from the busy world outside. The drinks weren't fantastic, but the buffet of appetizers were.

this is my fave place to hang out like a colonial idiot! beautifully designed interiors reminiscent of a grand cafe in paris, but with fantastic rugs and things everywhere. The menu is quite modern and the cooking is excellent, if you like razor clams try them here as the broth they come served in is sooooo saucy. Staff are very lovely too. It is a wee bit pricey but if you are going to treat yourself try here, great wine list and....apres dejeuner follow the staircase up to the lovely cocktail lounge kitted out in my fantasy house style, rugs, leather, wood, mirrors, screens and cocktails! Always some light jazz funk/soul in th eback ground, you can happily while away a ew hours of conversation here and slowly walk back to the medina (about twenty mins) It is very central 1 minute from mac donalds/zara on mohammed v. If its hot, they have really good a/c with fab water jet sprays, i know, i am easily pleased!

Followed Top 10 guide places for lunch to find this place (btw, wrong address on the top 10 detachable map!).

Really nice decor and atmosphere...taking this into consideration, food isn't European price (~£10 for a main course). I ordered skewed monkfish with curry sauce and rice. Food is just ok tasty...monkfish isn't as sweet as expected and curry is more like cream... Service was a bit slow, so perfect to chill out for longer to soak up the grandeur! :)
