“Cultural, atmospheric restaurant with fabulous food and service.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 8, 2013

We came cross this restaurant purely by chance and what a delight it is! Some of the areas of the restuarant date back to the 17th century and with the typically Morrocan decoration, low tables and cushions you know you are in for a treat.
Our most embarressing moment of our holiday happened following our starters when we realised we had forgotten our cards and didn't have enough cash to cover what we ordered. The head waiter didn't bat an eyelid and graciously arranged to let us share a main course so we could stay and pay - we are very grateful indeed for his discretion. And the lamb tagine with dates was delicious - the best I have ever tasted.
The musicians and dancers made this night a night to remember (and not just because of the shame!). I would highly recommend a visit to this top notch restaurant with great food, atmosphere and service.

“Interesting entertainment, decent food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 1, 2013

You are paying a lot for so so food. Still, we enjoyed the Kefta Tangine and the Hariri soup. The dancing entertainment is cheesy but fun. Huge underground room with high ceilings looks like an old run down palace. Your waiter will play tricks on you.

“Entertaining”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 31, 2013

They go out of their way to entertain you with bellydancers, live music, comedic waiters and a woman parading around with candles on her head. Nice night out, don't expect too much from the food. Nice fact; the restaurant was featured in Hitchcock's 'The man who knew too much'.

“Great Entertainment, food not as good”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2013

We visited the Dar Es Salam on our recent trip to Marrakech having read the Tripadvisor recommendations. In essence, it was an OK evening with the entertainment being the highlight. The choice of menu, whilst it looks extensive, is not so and as most dishes come as part of a fixed menu, it is difficult to get exactly what you would like. The food is classical Moroccan, i.e.. Tagine or tagine, and it is no better than a hundred other places in Marrakech, only more expensive. Service is good with waiters who have a great sense of humour, but at the same-time are not over bearing and the decor and environment is excellent, possibly one of the best indoor restaurants in Marrakech.

Not a restaurant I can rate other than OK and little to expensive for what it serves.
