First time in Marrakech for us and so glad we booked Riad Elizabeth. Hosts John and Elizabeth kept in touch with us via email before we arrived, suggesting places to visit etc. As we were travelling for my boyfriends 30th birthday they also arranged excellent restaurants for us to enjoy throughout. We booked transfers, a Hammam and also a trip through Atlas mountains via the Riad and would certainly recommend anyone visting doing the same. The Riad is exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated. A dip in the cool plunge pool is very welcomed! The staff, particularly Samira, we could not fault. Samira felt more like friend by the end of our time. Extremely friendly and helpful at all times. We had breakfast (very generous portions!) and one evening meal at the Riad which was delicious. We would most definitely return to Riad Elizabeth as we felt so welcomed. We would like to offer thanks to all of the staff for what was a really fantastic holiday.

We have just returned from a fantastic stay at Riad Elizabeth. This was our first time in this fantastically bonkers city and Riad Elizabeth offered the perfect hide away from the hustle, bustle and heat of the Souks!

The Riad offered everything we could possibly have asked for, Samira and the rest of the staff were some of the most genuinely lovely and helpful staff that we have come across and we were definitely sad to say goodbye. From evening meal ideas, taxi bookings and guidance in a new and strange city, the staff offered friendly advice and help that made our stay that much more special. What's more, each evening Omar the taxi driver ( who is another lovely chap ) would call ahead and a member of staff, normally Youseff would come and greet us and walk us back to the Riad. It is this level of service, that sets this place apart!

The Riad itself has be painstakingly brought back to life by John and Elizabeth. Their care and hard work has definitely paid of in creating a beautiful and relaxing environment in the middle of such mayhem! The pool is beautiful and cool, a perfect way to escape the midday heat, the breakfasts a beautiful and filling, evenings meals equally delish! I must admit, I have never taken the time to write a review before, but I could not settle until I had written one for Riad Elizabeth. I can't speak highly enough of this stunning place.

Save yourself the time trawling through the vast array of accommodation as we did, book a day,a week,a fortnight here and it will be the perfect start to your Marrakesh'y romance! The host of superb reviews for this Riad speak for themselves.

Huge thanks to John, Elizabeth, Samira and the gang! We look forward to seeing you all again on our return, until next time.

Jonny & Camilla.

I travelled to Marrakech for 5 nights at the beginning of August with my friend. And on reflection we cannot say a single negative thing about this Riad; from the moment we got there we felt so welcomed, and there wasn't a moment during our stay that our needs weren't met. Special mention must go to Samira, the manager, a lady for whom nothing was too much. She really did go above and beyond her job role. As two young girls in the heart of a manic city, it was so reassuring to have someone who gave advice, made bookings for us, and generally enabled us to get the very best out of our time in Marrakech.

The rooms were clean, the decor beautiful, the pool relaxing, the breakfasts delicious and the service impeccable. I cannot sing their praises enough - I urge anyone, from family, to couples, to friends, to spend their stay in Marrakech at this Riad.

This was our first time in Marrakech and our first experience of riad style accommodation - we were not disappointed! The taxi met us at the airport and whisked us off on the short journey to the riad, he even accompanied us to the door. Once inside the cool black and white interior, our holiday experience began!
We were welcomed by Samira the manager, who gave us mint tea and Moroccan cookies to kick start our stay. Afterwards we were shown to our room - Lucy room - which had a lovely comfortable four-poster bed. The decor was simple and elegant, reminiscent of Morocco but with a modern flair. The standards of cleanliness were excellent. We loved Lucy as for us the two windows to the outside were perfect, and gave a lovely through breeze from the bathroom to the bedroom. This was great at night as we didn't need to use the air-conditioning. There is some noise in the alleys of the medina, but it is atmospheric and didn't disturb us at all, and to be expected from staying in this ancient part of the city.
The whole team led by John and Elizabeth were absolutely wonderful. As owners they are definitely in the right job. Their hands-on attentive style was welcoming and unintrusive - they were there when and if you needed them with helpful advice and tips. We looked forward to their breakfast round of the tables for a chat and any arrangements required for the day were dealt with efficiently. We even got a lift with Elizabeth when asking for a taxi - where would you get that kind of service other than here! We also enjoyed a lovely afternoon chat over a glass of wine with John and Lucy - the real-life namesake of our room! - which made us feel like we were in their home rather than just guests. Samira too was everything a manager should be, calm and efficient, nothing too much trouble from guiding us throught the labyrinthine alleys of the souk to organising taxis and a much appreciated late check-out.
We had dinner in the riad every night and shared a table with other guests on two occasions. Both occasions made for a very enjoyable evening of interesting conversation - one French and one English! Bahija's food was mouth-wateringly delicious! Her salads for starters, always varied, were so tasty and the tagines to die for with couscous that was so far removed from anything you would make yourself! The honesty bar was a great idea, with fridges stocked with great Moroccan wines, gin, vodka, beer and soft drinks. Again, this really made you feel at home as you could have a drink whenever the mood took you on the pretty roof terrace which we very often had to ourselves. Breakfast too was lovely and served in the open air. The food was varied each day and was light and tasty with fresh fruit, yoghurt and Moroccan breads. My husband liked an omelette every morning and this was done without fuss, even if it was not on the menu for that day.
The location was very convenient for the souks and the Djemma el Fna. We soon became familiar with the route through the souk after an initial guided tour with Samira. We were also able to walk to the Koutoubia and the new town, although this is a little way and not for the faint-hearted in the heat of the day. Taxis were ordered by Samira for forays a little further afield such as the Saadian Tombs and the Palace, but were cheap and even came back for us to a pre-arranged spot, waving at us like friends - thank you Omar!
In conclusion, we shall definitely be back and shall have no hesitation in recommending this riad to friends. Well done to the whole team!

Room Tip: We managed to sneak a look at all of the rooms and all were lovely. We did like Lucy the best for the fact that there were two windows to the outside, rather than onto the courtyard. As the windows opened onto the alleyway there was some (unintrusive) noise of young people talking whilst enjoying the cool of the late evening and the call to prayer, but if you don't like this you shouldn't stay in the medina as it is part of the Marrakech experience.

My friend and I travelled to Marrakech at the start of July and don't have a bad word to say about this Riad.

We were understandably a little tentative about Marrakech, being two young girls alone. So the best part of our experience with the Riad was with regards to our SECURITY- firstly. we were escorted to and from a nearby restaurant. Then we were shown the route through the souks by John (who is completely delightful and really helpful). This was invaluable- we would NEVER have found our way through them comfortably without him! And the taxi driver used by the Riad, Omar, was incredible. He picked us up from anywhere and phoned the Riad to send someone to walk us through the alleys at night. Amazing.

John was great at helping us plan our days, booking restaurants for us and recommending places to visit. The French speaking staff were clearly lovely and very efficient.

In addition to this, the Riad itself was gorgeous. The rooms were modern, clean and had everything that we could have wanted. The breakfast was to die for. Honestly, I would go back just for the juice (nectar of the Gods).

I can't recommend this Riad enough, I really enjoyed every second of our visit to Marrakech and I am sure that we have John to thank for this.
