Riad El Grably

Five older women travelling together, we were a bit dubious about Marrakesh. But no worries. Riad el Grably is ideally situated and within easy walking distance of many attractions. Francoise arranged our transportation from the airport and was there to greet us and walk us to the riad. She then spent time showing us a map of the local area explaining how to get around. Very very helpful.
We walked at night to Djemaa el Fna square and various other areas, including the souks and jewish quarter and at no time felt unsafe in any way. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful and if you can handle the hastle to buy - great fun.
The Riad was beautiful with roof terrace and hot tub, all rooms individually decorated and we were served a more than ample breakfast. We all had a hammam on our last evening - quite an enjoyable experience, followed by a wonderful meal. Francoise and the staff were extremely helpful - we could not have asked for more. She arranged a driver to take us into the Atlas mountains, made reservations at a restaurant for us and arranged our transfers.
Only downside was that some rooms accessible by steep stairs - not suitable if you have mobility problems.
I would definitely recommend this Riad

This lovely riad is a quiet, luxurious haven in the midst of hectic Marrakech. Beautiful, spacious high-ceilinged rooms with decorated wood ceilings and excellent, very friendly service all the way through make you feel like you're in a palace. The roof terrace is amazing, with its sweeping views over the city and the Atlas mountains in the distance, which are seen quite clearly. With its innumerable places to sit or lie in, it's the first place you see during the day (for this is where breakfast is served) and definitely the last, for however tired you are when you come back after a day of exploring Marrakech, you can't go to sleep without getting up on the terrace and looking at the stars from there,
The hotel is so good, you almost feel tempted to spend your holiday without setting foot out the door. Talking of which, another great thing about Riad El Grably is its location: despite the fact that it's in the medina, it's quite easy to find and you won't get lost in the labyrinth of streets. If you're coming by taxi, it can take you almost to the door (just ask for "Le Parking de Prefecture" and it's 2 minutes on foot from there). The hotel is near a lot of the main sights of Marrakech (the Bahia palace, the Saadi tombs, the Jewish quarter) and 10 minutes on foot from Jema El Fna.
If you are thinking in the medina in marrakech, El Grably is definitely a find!

If you want to stay in a real Riad, this would be a great pick. Lost in the Medina behind high walls, a little temple of peace and solitude. French owner is very welcoming and a hive of information. Rooms are quirky but lovely. I wan't a great fan of the mosquito net but it looked romantic. The airco isn't the best but the setting is divine. Hang out on the rooftop for breakfast or a read in the shade. We were overflow by storks while eating the pancake/crumpet Morrocan breakfast staple with dates and fresh orange juice.

Beautiful riad, exquisitely decorated and immacutately clean, best place we stayed in Morocco, really well-looked after by Francoise and her team. Best breakfast of our trip too

The riad is very nice, staff is friendly, rooms clean, food is great. The terasse is splendid. As in every riad the noise you make gets boosted, but this is structural problem of all riads. We were a group of 8 and I admit we were a bit noisy playing cards and movies, but the owner should have told us instead of going all the way to the agency. She smiled to us as if nothing happened. That left bad taste in otherwise excellent stay.
The tajine was the best we had for 10 days in Morocco. The wi-fi signal is quite weak on second floor and almost non-existant on the terasse.

We travelled around Morocco and stayed in several hotels & riads. This place was the last and by far the best we stayed at during our trip. Even for Marrakesh standards (there is plenty of choice) this riad is excellent value, it's a beautiful place with nicely decorated rooms, a very large and well-equiped roof terrace and best of all, a wonderful owner and staff. Francoise was very helpful in arranging trips for us and giving advice on how to deal with taxi drivers!
Next time I'm in Marrakesh I will definitely stay here again. Can't wait to go back!
