We stayed at Le Rihani for 6 nights over New Year Eve 2011/12 and had a wonderful time.

The location was great - easy to memorise the way to the main square, and also easy to direct taxis back to the closest drop off point at the end of the street - the carved archway off the main street into to the little lanes is easily recognisable, then it's just first left, a dog leg and you're there!

The courtyard was a haven, although it was cold (it was winter!). The beautiful rooms all had heaters which was great, and the rooftop was a lovely spot for breakfast in the sunshine (the breads and mandarines and scrambled eggs - yum!). My parents (in their late 60s) found the stairs a bit steep, and their room only had a bath with high sides, no shower, which they found a bit difficult to use, but I think every riad would be the same? They also found the rooms very dark and had to use torches to find things. I loved the ambience but agree they were dark.

Cecile, Najat and Mohammed were so helpful leading up to the holiday and while we were there, checking so many things for us, recommending tours, cooking classes and restaurants. Najat even drew us maps to walk to various places and taught us belly dancing on NYE!

They booked us a guide to walk through the souks and show us palaces and Kamahl was fantastic - a govt-sponsored guide. We learnt so much about Moroccan/African history, architecture, religion, etc., and he took us the cooperatives and workshops of the souks, which was fascinating.

We did a day tour to Essouria and to the Atlas and really enjoyed both of them. Make sure you check if the "driver" is also a guide - we hopped in the car for a 'tour' to Essouria and the driver, Abud, asked us where we wanted to go while we expected him to have a plan and walk around as a guide too. But then we had the opposite experience with the Atlas mountains, with our driver, Mohammed, asking what sort of things we wanted to see, mapping out a route and providing fascinating details and banter throughout the day as we stopped in villages, crested mountains, ate at a beautiful restaurant and zoomed across 4WD tracks.

I'd definitely recommend Le Rihani.

Room Tip: Make sure you check if the bathroom has a shower, if you prefer one.

Riad Rihani is a fantastic peaceful oasis a short 5 min walk from the market. A perfect atmosphere and the turtles makes your day already at the breakfast. Compared to other places, prices should not scare you off, its guaranteed worth it. Superb service from the staff, great food and a nirvana, you forget everything outside - makes you almost dont want leave. At least makes you dream about going back soon :) A place worth sharing with all your loved ones! J

Just left our four night stay at Riad Le Rihani.

Such a lovely oasis tucked away from the madness of Marrakech.

Extremely friendly staff Najat and Mohammed who looked after our every need.

Delightful breakfasts by the pool with fruit, fresh breads, cakes and delicious fresh orange juice!

Wonderful dinner, which is highly recommended at least one night! Slightly more expensive than what you would pay at the restaurants in the medina, but the quality and setting are unsurpassed!

Rooms are clean and nicely decorated. Lovely touches of rose petals on the beds and then a fresh rose every night on your pillow. The rooms are slightly dark, but that is normal in these Riads, and it is easy to open a window or your doors to get some extra light. Shampoo etc refilled every day.

Wonderful bookcase and library, in which you will also find two resident turtles!
Didn't get to use the pool as it wasn't quite hot enough, but it looked amazing. The rooftop was a lovely place to spend an afternoon.

All in all, the best riad we have stayed at. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone.
Thank you very much for a lovely stay.
Oli and Sarah

We discovered Riad Rihani on internet and don't regret at all booking 4 nights there. We had LA DOUIRIA Suite which is spacious enough and tastefully decorated in grey tadelakt and fresh roses everywhere.
Breakfast is delicious (fresh fruits and pancakes) and served near the swimming pool.
Don't miss the traditionnal hammam (15 euros) and 45 minutes massage (30 euros), both done very professionnaly by the staff of the Rihani. And then relax on the terrace at the sunset when the sky becomes pink and the walls of the surrounding houses show their best orange colour! It's magic!
Finally the staff: everyone is so nice and helpful with the guests.Najat(Manager)is really taking good care of all the clients, and always has a nice word with everyone. She has very good addresses to recommend for dinner. We went to TANJIA, and LE CAFE ARABE, both 15 minutes walk.Don't expect good food on the Jemaa El Fna, it is only meant for tourists and you are always sollicited by people trying to sell you anything while you eat.
If you want to have an authentic memory of Marrakech, choose to stay in a riad rather than a hotel where you won't find a personnal service like we had in Rihani.
Thank you everybody and we hope to come back again!

Room Tip: LA DOUIRIA is the ideal room as it is very bight. Most of the rooms don't have windows.

I have been a few days in August/2011 in the Riad le Rihani, and I do recomment it!

Is not very easy to find (for a european, who can't read the names of the streets in arabic :), but you won't find difficult to find it as everyone in the streets is really helpful.
When you walk by the tiny streets and face a very simple and large wooden door, you can't really imagine what is inside!

We have stayed in the green room, which was very beautiful and romantic, very focused on the details (cleaned everyday, with fresh and beautiful roses on the table). The piscine, although not enormous, is more than sufficient once the Riad has only 8 rooms. It was always clean, and it was really nice to see it at night surrounded by candles, having a morrocan tea in the chairs around (you must count with the company of the two turtles and the cat of the house, which are very friendly... in fact I suspect that the cat is the real director of the Riad, he had a great life living there :).

The staff was very efficient and helpful, but also discrete. The location is also good, about 5 minutes walking from the vibrant Djema el Fna square (but far enough to have silence and rest).

For all that, I would definitely stay there again, and for sure recommend it to other travellers!
