My husband and I stayed at Dar Seffarine for the 3rd time. We come to Morocco regularly for business. It's a stunning riad - beautifully renovated. The staff are a delight and are alot of fun.

Breakfast, which is a communal affair, is a real highlight. Lots of different things to eat and certainly no shortage of anything. In fact breakfasts are probably some of the best we've ever eaten. Dinners are always good and also lots of fun, as unlike other riads you eat together with other guests. You won't walk away hungry! And in our experience, dinner at he riad is far better than eating at many other places in Fes.

Each time we've stayed at Dar Seffarine, we've had a different room on the 1st floor. Each has been lovely however I have to admit we find the beds a little hard (but this is an issue we have with nearly all Moroccan beds).

We can't imagine staying anywhere else but Dar Seffarine when we visit Fes.

A difficult review to write! It could have been spectacular but ended up not quite delivering. We had a great stay in Fes and the venue's location could not be faulted. The building is magnificant and our room was impressive but just not thought through. We had a highly impressive double room on the top floor. The room was massive but lacked what was needed. The bed was in the middle of the vast room but was too small and as a tall person i struggled to fitand it was very hard; the room cried out for a sofa or comfortable chairs and the en-suite dark and difficult to get into. Dinner at 20 euros was expensive and when asked if we wanted to have a drink we were not made aware of the fact that it was not included (added to our final bill a wine 70MAD). Our grande taxi from the station cost 25 MAD whilst the Riad offered a taxi at 100MAD. Generally you felt that they were exploiting the concept of convenience and the fact that many guests would be prepared to pay for this.
Roof top terrace magnificant, building stunning and Fes remarkable.

Room Tip: Ground floor not very private

Emerging on to the roof of this riad late afternoon gave up one of the most awesome sights I have ever witnessed. Fes's rooftops bathed in low sunlight - the atmosphere of this city is marinated in time, culture, clour and smell. The sight will remain as a fond memory of my holiday for a long time.

The staff are quite lovely and the food - breakfast or dinner - is great value and very good.

seriously, one of the best hotel i stayed in (and i have been to luxury hotels, believe me).
the place, the people, the position, the atmosphere was simply unique.
it is in the middle of the medina but it is totally silent... best sleeps i have had in a while!
if you go to Fès, i strongly adivse you to go there!

You'll find yourself drawn back to this place while exploring the medina and the terrace views. You'll be lucky to stay here. We had amazing service, the staff were friendly and felt like family. We had a large group- rented out all but two rooms. You can get wine on the terrace. Breakfast was out of this world- it was never topped anywhere else! Fresh fruit and orange juice- a grand selection of types of breads. We ate dinner one night and it was equally phenomenal. A great location- we had a guide the first day but found it easy after that to follow the "blue" or "red" tour. It was like going back in time and living as a true Berber family! Everything is so well-preserved.

The restoration and details throughout this riad are awe inspiring. The lobby is beautiful, wood carvings, hand painted doors, delicate lamps, colorful tile. All the rooms are special (we got a tour of the riad) but the gem is the suite with a walk in shower, Tall ceiling, giant bed and stained glass windows. The roof top lounge is multi-tiered, a great place to sun or read. Every time we walked in the door, the staff offerred mint tea or water; very relaxing after walking about all day /and a great way to unwind. The dinners were really exquisite perfectly cooked tagines, eggplant, salads, soups. The riad had a nice selection of wines. Also, very clean and easy to get to from one of the main medina gates.

My husband and I spent 3 nights at Dar Seffarine and loved it. We stayed in the Anneka suite. The Dar itself is so lovely, a practice in restrained opulence. It's simply perfection. We ate dinner at the Dar every night and the food was wonderful. Equally wonderful is the service. Everyone is friendly and the staff promotes a great family feel in the Dar. We got to know many of the guests and truly had a memorable time.
