If you want to stay in riad with central location to Medina and relatively peaceful place Riad Al Pacha might be perfect to stay in Fes. Anyway, I would recommend this place to experienced traveller who knows what to expect. Interior is really typical Moroccan architecture and very pleasing from this aspect, everything is handcrafted and spectacular. I stayed in the top floor and the room was really unique experience. First to find it was bit hard since it is located in the old part of city along very narrow alley. The price was acceptable around 50 e room for two persons. This place is NOT a hotel in its traditional meaning, so do not wait rich buffet breakfast an service all the time. On the contrary you do not see the staff too often, and they can not speak english at all, but you can reach the manager by phone if needed. All the basics are ok: air conditioning was ok and the room was clean, warm water and small breakfast. Not the best place if you are traveling with kids and you do not know basics of french! But as experience really nice, near to one of the main gates to medina and the taxi is about 2 euro from new city to this place (10 min). If you want service and more modern premises, choose another hotel, but if you want to experience real Moroccan Riyad THIS is the place to stay!
