This was our first Medersa in Fez and we were very impressed. The doors were beautiful. It wasn't crowed and you could just wander around and be impressed.

The architecture is great - it made it a little more interesting having a knowledgable guide with us - he was 150dh for three hours and for this visit he definitely added a lot.

There isn't much guidance here (for example the marble on the floor was traded with Italy - 1kg marble for 1kg sugar) so the guide made it much more interesting.

It was 10 dh to enter but well worth it.

Madersas are schools of Koranic study. As non-Muslims aren't allowed in mosques in Marrakech, this is your best chance to see the best of religious architecture and decoration, and it's well worth it. You pay a small fee to go in, and you might not be allowed in prayer time, but we went away and came back, and we weren't sorry
