We went for dinner for my birthday on 23/09/13 and where greeted by a waiter who allowed us to choose where we wanted to sit, he offered us drinks and we ordered a mint tea and cafe au lait.
First impressions the location and setting is beautiful. The garden is quiet even though it is in the centre of the Medina.
We ordered starters and Mains which all came together. The fig and cheese salad wasn't to my liking but that was just because the cheese was too strong for my taste.
The hakura salad I ordered for main was delicious. The salad came with different items not just a plain salad like I was expecting. The hakura was served with a lovely spicy tomato sauce. My partner ordered the beef meatballs with egg, this also came with a salad. He throughly enjoyed them and finished the lot.
After dinner we ordered more drinks a homemade lemonade and a homemade melon juice with a splash of vodka. The drinks were lovely and were larger than I expected.
We couldn't manage dessert on the night as the meals had filled us, so we went back the following evening to try dessert.
Again we were allowed to choose a seat and choose one near the door. We ordered chocolate mousse and Moroccan pastries.
The pastries were nice but nothing compared to the chocolate mousse. It was delicious, it was rich and creamy and was so good I couldn't share with my partner he had to order an extra one.
The restaurant is more expensive than the other restaurants at the front of the Medina, but in comparison to the quality of the food, the location, atmosphere and friendliness of the staff well worth the extra.
