The physical building itself is utterly gorgeous, the rooms perfect - mine had a walkup bathroom and shower that made me feel like a queen in a spa. The zellij, or mosaics, were superb, everything was beautiful and designed to lull you into thinking you had entered 1001 Arabian Nights. Very close to a main part of Fez. At 8:30 breakfast is a little late for my taste but for early risers the riad will prepare a take-away pack of food for your journey. Opulent, rich, a work of art.

The riad is a gorgeous quiet space in the old city of Fez, beautifully restored with vibrant colors and a stunning roof terraces that overlooks the city. The warm weather is equaled only by the warm people of Fez and the riad, and pots and pots of sweet mint tea at the ready make it feel like home the second you step behind the wooden doors along a no name alleyway. But perhaps the best part of my stay here was Lahsen. He is easily the hardest working person in the riad, if not Fez. Always with his shining smile, always with an offer to help or a funny word or story to share. I will miss him most of all and when I think back to my time in Fez, it is his face I will see smiling back. Thanks Lahsen. I hope our paths cross again soon in Fez, or elsewhere.

Room Tip: Showers take a long time to heat up. Be patient.

Once you are sitting having an excellent coffee near the Bab Rcif, just outside the Medina, you wonder how to find the Riad Rcif in this stunning labyrint! Just jump in and follow signs for the riad, otherwise ask somebody (and spend some dirham, say 5-10), to show you to the door. Even with Aisha's/Sue's directions it is not for the faint-hearted! But once you're in, welcomed by friendly and wel-dressed staff, speaking foreign languages (French, English and/or German a.o., you feel to be royalty. The hall is something you haven't seen before, restored palace of 1001 nights!
My single room was also in the old stile, with beautiful mosaik and woodcarving. Tall Caucasians etc have to be careful, and adjust to the old, smaller dimensions. An opulent breakfast, ever friendly and quiet staff give you a good start, and the terrace gives a sunny view over the roofs, mosques, roofs and walls of Fes. I slept very well, it is quiet and safe in the riad.
Staff is happy to give all Information and advise, and we exchanged some hearty jokes. You run into nice people here!

Room Tip: more up, more quiet, but mind the steps!

The Riad itself is the highlight here, a beautifully restored traditional building. It is in the heart of the medina so a great location and central to everything. The manager Aisha who is Australian was very welcoming and helpful, she went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. The food was ok but not outstanding, I would recommend eating elsewhere, cheaper and more variety.

3 friends and I stayed at the Riad Rcif for 5 days in 3 different rooms. The riad itself is beautiful, luxurious and well located but the best thing about it is the excellent service we received. From the 1st email requesting information we received timely, helpful information from the amazing manager, Aisha. She made sure everything we planned went very smoothly and cheerfully answered endless questions and requests. She fielded many calls from our driver and restaurants and made our trip to Fes immeasurably easier and more fun.
The meals at the riad are excellent. We spent a day being completely pampered with a traditional hamman with Nora and massages with Aisha. One of us had a birthday while we were there and Aisha arranged for flowers and a cake to be delivered! Lachen took very good care of us and even spent several nights on a cushion at the riad so he'd be available to help us come in late at night or leave early in the morning. We missed him when we left!

We spent one night in Fes and we slept in riad rcif. I will suggest this riad to anyone. Its in the heart of the medina and the inside is beatiful and authentic. The room was excellent and we also had dinner there. They prepared us some nice traditional maroccan food. The manager was from australia and she was really helpful. Even the young boy helped us find a way to the riad when we arrived and he's very sweet and helpful. We also met the boss and he took time to sit with us and explain.

Very glad i spent my onky night in Fes at rcif :-)

Our stay in Fez was highlighted by our accommodation at the Riad Rcif. The staff are absolutely fabulous and the Riad itself is stunning with so much detail having gone in to making it something very, very special indeed. The bedrooms are luxurious with mosaic fittings, gorgeous materials and stained glass windows. There is a lovely terrace to relax on in the evening and the sense of calm and tranquility is quite overwhelming after the Medina experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the Haman experience there too and Sue (the manageress) is a qualified masseuse too so you can choose from a range of wonderful pampering treatments to enjoy after a long day out. Breakfast is soooooooo good and there is always someone on hand to help you out with anything you may need. I cannot recommend this hotel enough and we most certainly hope to get back there this year,

Room Tip: Our room was very quiet (on the second floor) and we had windows facing out onto the Medina.
