Stayed here for 4 nights. Didn't have any problems. We were in a cheaper room, the shower was a bit awkward. But apart from that everything was good. The people were nice, didn't speak much English but they were happy to have us there. Breakfast was a mixture of tagine baked eggs, breads, jams, coffees, tea, juice. Was too much really. It's close to the main streets in the medina... Well, what we thought were the main streets. That place is massive. On the first night we ate dinner up on the terrace. Overall it was a nice stay. Thumbs up.

We stayed in this Riad for two nights as part of our trip around Morocco in August 2013. Everything about our stay here was just perfect. The Riad is conveniently located near a public car park and one of the entrances to Fes’ fantastic Medina making it an excellent choice. Inside, the Riad is just beautiful. The public areas are gorgeous and the rooms even better. Fes can get very hot but we had air conditioning so we didn’t suffer at all. The staff (Mouassine and another older gentleman) were so warm and welcoming. When we arrived hot and bothered from our journey, we were immediately greeted with a friendly smile and a lovely pot of mint tea which refreshed us and calmed us down. The breakfast was delicious too. Mouassine took great care of us suggesting a lovely restaurant, accompanying us to the Medina and introducing us to a great tour guide (Jawed). We were so sad to leave and overwhelmed by the staff’s humility and warm service. Would definitely recommend, you won’t be disappointed.

Room Tip: We stayed in the big double room street side on the 2nd floor which was gorgeous. The bathroom was l...

Our stay at this gorgeous Riad, with it's tiled walls, great location and rooftop terrace, was made even better by the the amazingly warm staff. We were met by an attendant upon arrival through the gates. This kind man escorted us to the Riad and assisted us with our luggage. Upon arrival to the Riad, our lovely hostesses Nezha and Maria greeted us with home made biscuits and mint tea. Maria, who is like the Moroccan mother you never had, prepared the most amazing local cuisine in her clean kitchen on the premises. She prepared all of the local dishes and delicacies to our specifications and brought us into the kitchen for lessons. The staff, including our liason to anything Fes, Muhommad, arranged hookah/shisha for us at the Riad, organized a medina tour for us (at a "local rate" with an amazingly knowledgable university professor) escorted us through the market and assisted us with transportation to the next city on our agenda. The warmth, graciousness and hospitality of this group made Fes and the Riad Naila the highlight of our trip. I can't wait to return on a future trip to Morocco!

From Fes train station, we took a petite taxi to this parking lot just outside the medina. Paid around 10dirhams for one of those boys with a cart who showed us to the riad, which was actually very near by. I did not inform the manager when I would arrive, so it was a good thing that the boys helped us because he went to get the manager to open the riad up for us as we were the only guests there when we arrived. We were attended to by Mohamed who was the assistant manager and served us tea while we checked in. He also upgraded our room to the bigger suite downstairs that had stairs to the bathroom. Mohamed basically acted as a guide during our stay at Fes. He brought around the medina, to places to eat for dinner and breakfast and even a place where a live band was playing traditional Moroccan music. We learned a lot about the culture, people and lifestyle while we were at Fes. We met a fellow Japanese traveler on the train and bumped into her again while in the medina and he was so hospitable to her as well even though she stayed at another riad (where he worked at before too!) He recommended a driver for our day trip to Volubilis, Moulay Idriss and Meknes as well.

The riad was beautiful, a little cold in the big room (used to warm climates), wifi connectivity was great and the service was excellent. Would recommend this riad in a heartbeat!

I booked this place months in advance but when I arrived the attendants claimed to have no knowledge of my booking. I showed them the email correspondence to no avail. In any case, the place was empty, lights were off and fountain was dry. The owners were nowhere to be found and the two guys at the door were disheveled and confused. I left and went to Dar Fes Media and had a great stay in Fes.

I traveled by myself and I stayed 3 nights there. Riad Naila left me unforgettable impressions. Needless to say, the riad was beautiful, a historic piece of art, but above all, the hospitality was incredible. Every evening when I came back to the hotel, they shared their own food with me and ate together and chatted casually. I had bad experiences with the tour guide and sale scams in Fez. They advised me how to avoid and how to deal with those. They did my laundry, iron and everything, and I got an impression that they were not doing it because I was their customer, but they are doing it because I am their friend or one of their families. It made me feel so good. Mohamed, one of their stuff, saw me off at a bus station and I almost cried when I said good bye. Thank you so much.

If you are looking for a real, magical and truly unforgettable Moroccan experience, Riad Naila is your place! Once setting foot into the charming patio, you instantly forget that it is 2012 and you are not part of one of the mystical Arabian 1001 nights fairytales. The Riad is more like a palace with its colourful zelliji floors and walls, magnificent archways and ceiling carvings, dome-shaped and stained glass doors, hand made traditional furniture and romantic fountain in the middle of the patio, surrounded by palm trees. Our room was a suit with a huge, comfortable four poster bed with baldachin, air-conditioning and a TV. The ensuit bathroom was another big plus – spacious, with always running hot water and featuring all traditional details. Everything inside the room and in the common areas was spotlessly clean. The Riad has free Wi Fi connection, great bonus for all the travelers like us. It has to be underlined the beauty of the terrace and the stunning panoramic view over the Medina, where we were lucky to have our breakfast. And yes, about the breakfast…mmm…it was amazing as well-always so fresh and delicious, with a lot of different Moroccan bread, pastries, spreads, jams, cheese, coffee and freshly squeezed juice to last you long through the day. The location is another benefit – it is just 5 minutes away from the Blue Gate, all the shops and the wonders of the Medina, but still set in a quiet little alley, just next to the parking (which made it easier for us to go to the bus station in the new city or to the airport, without needing to carry the luggage throughout the steep Medina). However, what really makes this lovely place feels like home is the great hospitality of the staff working there. We appreciate the warm welcome we got by the manager Mr. Abdul, but unfortunately although he is fluent in French we don’t speak a single word in it. Luckily for us, Mohamed who also works there speaks very good English and that made our stay there very comfortable. He was always there to help and went out of his way to assist us with absolutely everything we needed. Riad Naila is run by energetic and very enthusiastic people, with wonderful, pure souls, warm hearts, who have mastered the famous Moroccan hospitality. They are incredibly kind and caring. Thank You so much Abdul, Mohamed and Malika! We are looking forward to return there one day and will definitely recommend the place!

Room Tip: The rooms are air-conditioned and there is wi fi connection
