“Authentic Riad in Fes”
Reviewed September 17, 2013 via mobile

This Riad was the most authentic we stayed in during our holiday in Morrocco. It is very well located near the Medina but is very quiet and calm. The breakfast was amazing and we had a very good dinner one evening as well. The staff were kind and helpful and recommended a guide as well as places to visit. The room was cool and very clean with a lovely bathroom. I thoroughly recommend this Riad.

We had a fantastic time staying at this Riad. The place is really quite amazing to look at, it is one of the most beautiful Riads we saw during our stay in Morocco. Our room was large, clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was huge. This Riad is just a minute from the Medina, and is very easy to access, as the Medina carpark is just out the front. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also great. One morning we had to get up very early and they were happy to arrange an early breakfast, even though the staff were not working at that time. Also, we managed to forget to leave our key at the hotel, and we sent the key back via CTM bus, they were fine to go pick up the key and the issue was handled very professionally. Highly recommend. Thanks very much!

we stayed at this riad for two nights and it was superb. The hotel manager was super nice and helped us on arranging guide and restaurant. Both recommendations are super good. We also had dinner at the riad and it was excellent as well. The hotel is located quite close to medina and there is also a parking nearby. I strongly recommend this hotel for anybody visits fes

I just got back from Morocco, and spent 2 nights at this riad with friends. As it worked out, there were 3 groups from Canada staying at the riad at the same time, and we all individually had issues with the service. As it was ranked 3rd on TripAdvisor so expectations where high. The main issue we had was with Kacem, the main daytime employee. From the moment we arrived, we was not attentive and completely distracted, (didn't look up from his computer screen when we arrived into the office). There were many small issues, like not helping carry bags up to the third floor, unhelpful when asked about laundry services, etc. One big issue we had was about breakfast. The breakfast was excellent, but he was extremely inflexible with seating arrangements. As although we were 3 different groups, we all new eachother and would sometimes go downstairs at different times. He would not, however, allow us to sit with people who were not in our room, one morning my friend was told she had to sit by herself instead of sitting with friends. It was completely ridiculous. Although he tried to act friendly, he wasn't really interested in our concerns. One morning he asked me how I slept, and I said terrible, as the AC didn't seem to be working properly. He brushed off my concern, shrugged his shoulders and said it was working fine and walked off.
The riad was nice, the other staff seemed great, but unfortunately most interactions were with Kacem.
I know that on tripadvisor, reviews have to be taken with a grain-of-salt. It was just that compared to other accomodations we stayed at in Morocco where the service was amazing, this riad's service very much paled in comparison.

We stayed 2 nights here in August. The rooms were excellent - especially the suite my husband and I stayed in. We were served a lavish breakfast and had a dinner there one night that was very good. The staff spoke English very well and worked hard to meet all our needs and make our stay very pleasant. It was around 104 while we were there but our room stayed nice and cool - good AC. WE would stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for the suite.

My wife and I went on a short break to Fes,and saw that this place was highly recommended. Yes, location was great. But other than that it is beyond me why this ranks 3rd best place. The staff are lovely, truly very nice and hospitable people, but the service was nothing to sing home about, and more importantly our room was cramped, dark and tiny! It was a struggle to get all the way around the bed. On our last day, we had a peak through the doors of another room which was being cleaned and it was alot bigger than ours so perhaps we pulled the short straw.
I was miserable staying here, it also felt dirty. The bed linen itself was washed daily but the blanket wasn't and smelt like it too. It wasn't what I was hoping for or expecting. And the bathroom always stank! Of stagnant water!
And the last point to add was the complete lack of any sound-proofing. Every morning we would wake to the loud chatter of the staff ladies at 7 am! And then all the guests as they would wake up!
A very very disappointing stay.
