“Moroccan Magic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2013

My daughters and I enjoyed a wonderful three night stay at this beautiful and traditional Riad in Fes. Upon our arrival we enjoyed a welcoming tea with Eman (best tea maker in Morooco) who kindly organised someone from a local restaurant to walk to the Riad on our first night and accompany us through unfamiliar streets and walk us home again after our dinner. The cook at the Riad made a wonderful breakfast for us each morning and we also enjoyed a dinner one night with a huge spread of food and flavours. The location in the old part of town added to the charm and mystique of being in Morocco. We enjoyed playing chase and soccer with the local children in the narrow streets nearby. The owner, Mohammed was very personable and friendly and made our stay a very memorable one. Highly recommended.

Mohammed and staff our wonderful. They welcomed us with Moroccan tea and treats and then said, "This house is your house." Our experience was like staying with treasured family. The rooms are lovely and the entire place is very beautiful and clean. You feel like you're in a historic guest house. And a few of the staff understand English, which was very helpful! The staff will also prepare breakfast upon request which was wonderful for the early risers and the late sleepers. And they had a pack-n-play crib for our youngest traveler.

Thank you for hosting us as family, and for the lovely breakfast and restful accommodations. We look forward to coming again someday!

I would say that I was impressed by the quality of the infrastructure of what we can call a guest house. Mohamed, the owner, helped us a lot with our trip and treated us like close friends. The rooms are very comfortable and the classic "tea and sweet crackers" is always served with a smile. I recommend this place 100%!

Shokran Dar Fes Medina, Mohammed, Imane, Sumeer and the lovely kitchen ladies!
We spent 4 nights at this lovely Dar and enjoyed the friendliness and hospitality expressed.
The room is authentically decorated, the mint tea+biscuits were a treat! We were welcomed genuinely and treated as true guests. Definitely a great place to stay when in Fes.

We chose this place to stay because we saw it had very good reviews and an award of excellence for 2012. When we arrived, the owner showed us another one - award of excellence from Tripadvisor for 2013. I can tell you that it is well deserved and earned.

Dar Fes Medina is your home in Fes. There is a distinction in English between a house and home. And this is HOME from capital letters. I travel a lot, and I have not had many experiences of feeling like home in a hotel or B&B. This was one of the rare and truly exceptional experiences for me.

When we arrived, Mohamed (the owner) greeted us with Moroccan mint tea. We chatted, he showed us around and told about the building, furnishings and decorations, which are absolutely fantastic and authentic. The staff is very much caring and helpful. We had a guided tour organized in the city with a very professional guide. We had two dinners served to us in the B&B of authentic Moroccan food. It was all very delicious and it was the best food we ate in 6 days that we have spent in Fes. Highly recommended!

B&B is located away from the bustling streets of medina, on the calm residential Andalusian side of medina. It is 10-15 min. Walk away from the Blue Gate, Bab Boujloud. The rooms were clean, comfortable and authentically furnished. There is a comfortable terrace upstairs overlooking the roofs of medina. The breakfast was never boring, and each morning it was different and nutritious. Usually there are (1) boiled or fried eggs, (2) pancakes that are different each morning, (3) freshly squeezed orange juice (4) olives, butter, honey, jam (5) bread + optional - yogurt, fruit.

Staying there is an authentic experience of Morocco and Moroccan hospitality! My kind regards to all staff of Dar Fes Medina!

I stayed at Dar Fes Medina in May with family and had a fantastic time. Despite a miscommunication when booking the property, Mohamed and his staff were excellent hosts and did everything possible to ensure that we were comfortable and happy throughout our stay.
The Riad is located in Ziat - a 10 minute walk from Batha, 15 minutes from Bab Boujloud. The area is quieter than most parts of the Fez medina, is easily reached by taxi, and the rooftop has a lovely view of the entire medina.
The staff was attentive and made sure that our every need was attended to. They cooked a fabulous dinner - we started with the 7 salads (we got 8, I believe, and they were all excellent!) and continued with a delicious kefta tajine and fruit for dessert. The riad arranged a half day walking tour of the medina, and helped us to find other accommodation for the next evening.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the bathrooms are all recently redone, and the common spaces (downstairs, terrace) are all well furnished, well kept, and comfortable. I would highly recommend Dar Fes Medina to anyone visiting Fes - I've previously stayed here 2 times, and hope to stay here again soon!
