We attended four concerts and thoroughly enjoyed them. The atmosphere in the slightly cooler evenings added to the romantic feel of the concerts. People attending were happy and all in all we had a memorable week!

I had the chance to be at the opening of the Festival this year and I can tell you that it's really magical. The music, the dance, the sets and the atmosphere take you to another world!

I would definitely recommend this festival but you need to remember that the word "sacred" is used pretty loosely. I was there for 6 of the 8 days and just SO appreciated the diversity of performances as well as the variety of spaces. It is a little scarey in the beginning trying to find each location but just keep asking people and sooner or later, you'll find it. The evening performances were in these wonderful Dar's but most of the seating is on the floor - or standing on the outside perimeter. There was always room at the Batha Museum concerts but the chairs are NOT comfortable so if you have back issues, bring your own cushion. And you can easily get tickets when you arrive and maybe even save some money because there were always people with tickets to sell so if you like to wheel & deal, you'll have your chance. Hope to go back in a couple years.

This is a great music festival, with many different types of music, Some of the organization could be improved. The method for buying tickets from abroad, then getting a voucher and having to exchange it for the actual tickets is more confusing than it should be - especially because the instructions for exchanging them are not complete and the people working the festival seem to not know where the exchanges can be done at different times. Some of the concerts were terribly oversold. The free concerts were much easier and more fun, and the Sufi nights at Dar Tazi are not to be missed.

This was my second visit to the Festival and I thought the music this year was exceptionally well chosen. Although I did not like some of the more jazzy collaborations, it was wonderful to find so many styles and approaches in one week, from the large productions in Bab Makina, to the more intimate Sufi and 'Nights in the Medina'. The afternoon events in the Batha Museum were generally soothing, mellow and delicious to be able to sit outdoors, with a wonderfully ancient tree and the flight of birds all around. Also the free evening concerts in Bab Bajloud were outstandingly well produced for sound and lighting. Very generous and a good way to mix with locals, who attend enthusiastically.
One element I also enjoyed was the Circus group from Sale in the park.
