“so good we went back twice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2012

Recommended by Fouad the owner of Maison Fez Aya. A quiet retreat from the bussel of the medina. Close to The Blue Gate. Worth the walk up all the stairs to get to the roof dining area. A little more pricy than others but you get what you pay for. Fresh linen tablecloths and napkins, good quality cutlery and crockery. Friendly service, simple menu and they do a very good steak as well as tajine, kebabs and many of the local dishes. Not easy to find, just asked a local, everyone knows where it is. Good for a special occasion or when your tired of slumming.

“A little pricey, but great tagine and friendly service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 5, 2010

I was the only customer when I visited this restaurant conveniently located close to Bab Boujeloud. Its in a perfectly nice, but not ornate, riad off a side street off Talaa Kbira. The staff were very friendly and after asking them to recommend something they served up a nice harira and a rather good lamb with dried fruit. Apart from being a little quiet, this place is definitely pricier than some of its nearby competitors (all in 200DH).

The Derb Tariana is on the left as you walk towards Bab Boujeloud down Talaa Kbira, a little before you pass under the elaborate arch in front of the Medersa Bounania.
