Description: An intimate dining experience in a beautiful setting, dinner at Dar Roumana's restaurant is a must-do for any visitor to Fes. Our talented French chef serves Mediterranean food with a Moroccan twist, and can be described as French/Moroccan 'fusion'. Changing daily, the dishes on the menu reflect the produce that's in season and bought fresh from the markets every day. Start with a drink on our roof terrace with spectacular views of the ancient medina of Fes, then dine in our courtyard restaurant. Decorated with colourful zellij tiling, carved cedar wood, a beautiful hand-painted bartal and intricate plaster, the restaurant is breathtakingly beautiful. In the winter, reserve a table for two next to our open fire, and in the summer be cooled by the splashing sound of the central fountain. Adding to the romantic setting is the attentive but discreet service. Allow us to transport you to a world of fine cuisine for the evening. We look forward to welcoming you to Dar Roumana. Reservations essential.

“5star setting and food, Impeccable.”
Reviewed November 1, 2013

Wow. What an amazing Riad. Unfortunately we missed out on the opportunity to stay here as they did not have all of our dates available, but we came here for a dinner during our stay in Fes. After being escorted from the gate to the riad along another somewhat maze like journey we ended at a dead end 'Dar Roumana' next to the door which opened to an Aladdin's Cave of beautifully restored, furnished and decorated space. Only six or so tables exist in the courtyard which contains the restaurant, which creates a very intimate feel. My wife went crazy taking photos of the beautiful interior. Vanessa the manager of the riad was warm, helpful and friendly and the staff were great. Attentive, but not obtrusive. The meal itself was superb, chef Vincent (Vanessa's husband) has created a great Western style menu with Moroccan influences. I'd highly recommend a trip to Dar Roumana either to stay, to eat or simply to sample the beauty of the place.

“Better than Michelin star! Great Service, magical atmosphere, very romantic.”
Reviewed November 1, 2013

This restaurant must not be missed if you step foot in Morocco. It is based in a magical authentic Riad and the fore court is to die for. It has the perfect atmosphere for families and romantics.

The food is the wonderful creations of Vincent, who you don't see much, but you smell and taste his food. The love he has for cooking definite penetrates the taste of his food. It has pure love init.

I high recommend Vincent's Fish dish and his wild rice starter. I also recommend that you order every dessert on the menu and just indulge and they are explosions on the taste buds that will get your tongue talking for days to come.

“Stunning setting, fantastic food”
Reviewed October 30, 2013

As with many other places, it can be difficult to find and so we arranged to be picked up by the restaurant at a meeting point (lower parking area at Ain Azliten), where we were met and escorted to the Riad. When we arrived we were greeted by the waiter who first directed us to the rooftop terrace for an aperitif. The rooftop terrace is a beautifully relaxing setting with views over the Medina and the Merinid Tombs. When we had finished our drinks, we made our way down to the restaurant located in the main courtyard of the Riad. The décor of the courtyard is amazing, a fantastic setting to have an intimate meal. The food was not traditional Moroccan, but is fine dining with Moroccan influences. The service was attentive, yet unobtrusive, but always there when you needed something. The meal was amazing – the best we had in Fes.

“Lovely place to eat”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

This restaurant is an experience not to miss. We were sent an escort to bring us to and from the restaurant from our Riad in the Medina. The service was excellant, both in French and English. The menue was limited, main entree choices being 2 fish and 2 veal dishes. But the fresh fig and goat cheese appetizer was excellant! The restaurant is in a restored Riad and is exquisite. The tile and mosaic work paired with the woodwork is very well done. Atomosphere is quiet with only (I think) 5-6 tables. Make reservations.
We were very happy to have experienced this restaurant while in Fes

“Dinner at Dar Roumana”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

Absolutely delicious food in a stunning setting. The french chef is lovely and although we weren't staying there Vanessa, the manager was very helpful in recommending other places to stay in Fez. The food was great value considering it was high grade posh nosh.
