Stay away it is terrible. Reason for my comment
1 Plumbing in bathroom was broken and waste water went all over the room
2 Reception staff can barley speak English and are stand-offish and insolent
3 No toilet paper in Restaurant toilet anywhere, but staff delivered a handful of serviettes to the dinner table after I went up to my room to resolve the situation.
4 Don't go to the night club, a tour colleague was over 100 Euros out of pocket after indulging in a drink, but obviously to long, as they locked the door of the night club, and he was only able to leave after he paid for drinks he didn't have and a belly dancer he didn't see.

Grandly decorated but very rundown. The room was large and nicely decorated but few of the power points worked, most of the lights didn't work and the toilet required careful management. The towels in the dingy, dirty bathroom were grey and raggedy much like the rest of the hotel. The reception staff spoke good English and were helpful and friendly but most of the staff spent most of their day lazing around on the sofas in the lounge areas watching TV and generally having a very good time. The place was dirty, full of mosquitoes and the Saturday night disco kept thumping well into the early hours of the morning. The area around the hotel is very, very dirty and the smell is also pretty revolting. Breakfast was OK but at 70 euro a night you'd have to be able to find a better spot than this.

Recently (mid June 2013) stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. I am sure there has been no maintenance since it was built in 1922. Dirty, staff rude, scam with the associated bar/nightclub (was locked in until I tipped the doorman)
Steer clear of this one.

I stayed in this hotel one night in April 2013 on a Peregrine trip to Morocco. The hotel was certainly a faded glory but the lack of maintenance might have been forgiven if it had been clean. The breakfast was poor and there was no table at which I could sit as every table cloth had greasy stains on it and also crumbs. There was a croissant ground into the floor and there was a couple sitting having breakfast at the same time as me of which the woman spent about twenty minutes shouting at the waiter (also grubby). As I was waiting for my taxi to the airport, there were two men blocking the entrance shouting at each other for more than ten minutues. The staff did nothing to remove them. The television did not work but luckily I did not experience the mosquitoes because I kept the windows shut and locked because of the noise. We sensibly avoided drinking or eating in the hotel in the evening. You should do the same.

Room Tip: Do not go there.

My wife and I spent one night there at the start of a Peregrine Adventures tour in Morocco. I can only presume they got a cheap deal on the place.

Well, let's be frank here, this place is the pits. It stinks like a dirty ashtray, the rooms are run down and in desperate need of work, and to cap it off there is a disco that operates till the wee hours and keeps the guests awake with its boom-boom-boom sound effects.

Feel like taking dinner at the hotel? Good luck finding someone to serve you. How about a drink at the bar? Yes, but be careful, the bartender seems to make the prices up on the fly.

The original lift from the 1920s does have a kind of quaint appeal, apart from the risk to life and limb using it.

Please, do yourself a favour and stay anywhere but here!!

Stayed 2 nights before an organised tour of Morocco. The hotel is in a good location being only a few minutes walk from Place Mohammed V and a number of very good cafes and restaurants. The hotel was built in the 1920s and although retains much of its original character, appears to have had little maintenance in recent years. We found the hotel staff to be friendly and generally helpful. Our room was small, it was dusty and the windows did not close, in fact panes in the bathroom window rattled as they were held in place by wood screws. Our TV did work. Breakfast in the hotel was good although evening meals were limited and relatively expensive. Eating out is the better option. The most annoying aspect of the hotel was the constant noise during the night from the street behind the hotel. Noise from night club which is part of the hotel added to the din. If you are after an interesting hotel with plenty of character and you are not squeemish, stay at the Transatlantique, if not, stay somewhere else.
