“Beautiful disused cathedral in the centre of Casablanca”
Reviewed May 18, 2012

The stained glass windows of every colour lighting up the bare white interior have to be seen. Incredible. For a nominal fee to the man on the door, you can head up the various floors within to better appreciate an empty cathedral, then, if you have a good head for heights, all the way to the top of the spire. Fantastic panoramic city views. Be aware that as it's not maintained, there are no safety ropes or guide rails, so this is not for the faint hearted. And watch out for the pigeon nests and chicks on the steps as you go up!

“Not much to see, just special because it is a Christian church in an Islamic country”
Reviewed May 12, 2012

It is a relatively modern designed church, it is big and it has one nice window, but apart from that it is just empty..... For us we were disappointed that we went here, a waste of our time.

For Muslims from some Arabic countries and for Christians that have never been to an Islamic country this might be special, but for those of us that have seen more of the world it is nothing special. Just an empty building that used to be a church.

“Beautiful heritage building”
Reviewed April 9, 2012

This beautiful old church has recently been cleaned up and hosts art shows and cultural events. If they are in-between shows the concierge will show you around for a modest entry fee. Most of the original stained glass remains intact. It's a special building in this city.

“Surprising, worth a 10-15-min visit”
Reviewed February 27, 2012

Surprising, worth a 10-15-min visit, the cathedral is located just next to the Parc de la Ligue Arabe. It is no longer in use for religious purposes - I found an exhibition of young Moroccan artists accommodated inside.
The building is physically degraded, but it would thrill a visitor who can find beauty in decaying structures - very tall white walls, vividly colored stained-glass windows, birds flying inside the church: quite poetic.
