Our visit to this museum was on the last day of a two week tour of Morocco. The museum uses black and white photography to capture shots from various Jewish sites and establishments throughout the country. Our tour had previously taken us to the majority of these sites. Having seen them in colour the photographic display was far from striking. Cabinets of artefacts with explanatory notes were a worthwhile read.
Jewish culture in Morocco is well respected and cannot be underrated.

Lots of photos of Jewish life in Morocco in the past. Some items in display cases and models of synagogues which have closed. Not a very interesting museum. Could have been better.

Museum of Moroccan Judaisme is an important source to know Moroccan history and civilization. It show different types of artisans outils and laboratory as few witnesses of ancient synagogues. A collections of photos give a map of jewish presence in the country, a presence often protected by muslim peoples.

This area, for non-French speakers is pronounced Wa-zees (Oasis) - try to locate the place on a map before you go, it is a residential district and taxis know of it, but not exactly where it is. It is said to be the only museum of Jewish life in an Arab country. Not too much explanation on the exhibits themselves, but unique photographs of the last rabbis of various towns, exhibits that show what people wore and what was in their synagogues. Wanted to meet the director, but she was not there.
