Beautiful view to the sea around the mosque
Tiles are very nice on the outside
Worth a look and within walking distance of the old Medina

“Amazing!”
Reviewed June 5, 2013

Since this is the only mosque that I have ever been inside, I had no idea what to expect. The place is gorgeous and fascinating. I can see how 18,000 worshippers fit inside the place during Ramadan--it's HUGE! The guide did an excellent job of showing us around and explaining everything to us. There's a cost for the inside tour, but it's well worth it.

“breathtaking architecture”
Reviewed June 2, 2013

Although I did not pay to go inside, the outside was spectacular. Photo opportunities abound and even for those of us who are not Islam, the trip was well worth the visit.

“Beautiful Modern Mosque With Unobstructed Exterior View for Photos”
Reviewed June 1, 2013

We did not have time from the tour to go inside, but stopping outside for 15 minutes to take some breathtaking photos was reward enough on a busy touring day. It was early in the morning, with the morning sun and no tourists (except our group) there. The blue sky was just the perfect backdrop for the photos. Immaculate building and very clean cut architecture. Lovely lines and arches.

“Hit and miss in the mosque”
Reviewed June 1, 2013

Spend some time outside watching the people and marvelling at the sheer scale and technology of this mosque. Inside, I couldn't find the English-speaking tour, so I wandered around. Walk around, look up - art to take the breath away. Photos can be difficult - swot up on shooting in low light. I got some great shots by playing around with light. You need to take a tour - check with your hotel, hostel or the tourist office as the mosque is open only at certain times on certain days. It's a 20-minute walk from the city centre, but a petit taxi (little red thing) will get you there cheaply.
