“Just a stopover, just a room.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 13, 2013 via mobile

Stayed here 2 nights, once at the beginning of my trip, and once at the end. The hotel is very outdated and in need of major renovations. Both rooms had a smoky stench, and a friend had to change rooms because the smell was so strong.
On our arrival the first night we were allowed an early check-in, which was nice, but when we arrived to the room, there were no towels. We let that slide due to the early checkout.. But the second night, 8 days later, we arrived after check-in time around 6pm, and there were no towels. Obviously this is a recurring issue. We called, and we called again. 45 mins later we had towels.
The area around the hotel was not desirable, even the medina was not worth the effort.
Go straight to Marrakech or Fez. No need to stop in Casablanca ( never thought I would say that).

An overnight stay here was part of a tour but neither the city nor the hotel had anything to impress or invite me to want to return. The room was very ordinary and the smell of cigarettes lingered even though we had a non smoking room. The food was ok but the lack of interest on the part of the staff in the dining room as well as in all other parts of the hotel did more to discourage guests than to show any pride in themselves, their job or their city. If you have to stay in Casablance, and I'd suggest not to bother, somewhere else might be more welcoming and pleasant.

Spacious and impressive foyer and the entertainment from its grand piano was nice, but this is clearly for business men and their packet-a-day habits.
The hotel is central to the mistaken tourists and disillusioned workers who mingle with the thieves and beggars who roam the streets. Venture out if you dare. The room was adequate but the breakfast has stayed with me for days....

Very old rooms. Never a good smell of a clean room but rather a nasty smell of old carpet. The service st the reception is ok but at the buffet restaurant the food quality is poor and not at all following the good Moroccan tradition. The waiters at the dinner buffet are ignoring the clients and look lazy and never smiling. In front of my room on the 8th floor a guest had left his dishes outside the room: the dirty dishes with fruit skin were there for 24 hours and when I left they were still there. All in all the only good thing is its central position. Last but not least: very high prices for anything you want from breakfast to the dinner buffet but no quality nor service. It's too easy...

The rooms are old and shabby, and could really do with a renovation. Cleanliness is not a redeeming feature either. The bathroom is poorly equipped in terms of soaps/shower gels/shampoos, number of towels, etc. Very few of the usual comfort items such as slippers or bathrobe etc. are provided.
The reception staff need a lot of convincing to treat SPG members with any preferential treatment, and are less than courteous. Fortunately some of the concierge staff and restaurant staff are helpful and friendly.
Overall, a very disappointing bearer of the Sheraton name. If you are an SPG member, I recommend using the Meridien (also SPG) 1 block down the road.

Arrived after midnight and security just stared at us waiting in the taxi. We had torequest him to lower the chain to allow the taxi access. No concierge and no other assistance with luggage or directions. Check in was rather slow and no information offered. We had to ask what time breakfast was. Room was a bit shabby. for the price paid. A bit disappointing for the price paid.

Happened to find a Japanese restaurant in the hotel. We had our teppayaki and it's horrible. The dishes were very salty, and the beef was over cooked. The price is on the high side. The cook was not a Japanese. However, it's not easy to find even a Japanese restaurant in Casablanca and we have to compromise on the quality.
