“Poor Laundry Service”
Reviewed July 3, 2014 via mobile

Overall is good. But the laundry service is so bad, it comes so late. And there's no apologize from the staff. The room, the suhoor menu, the restroom is good. And the location also very strategic, near the Hassan II Mosque. The view is amazing, but I hate the dots on the windows, it's annoying.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for sharing your feedback following your recent stay at the Kenzi Tower Hotel.

We are happy that you enjoyed your stay, the room, the suhoor menu, the restroom and the amazing view from our hotel. Most of our guests find our location as one of the best in Casablanca.

On the other hand, we were concerned reading about your experience with the laundry. Please accept our apologies. The staffs in charge have been informed.

We are looking forward to welcoming you back and to serve you at the high standards our hotel.

Sincerely;

The only good things about this hotel are the view of the Mosque from the Lounge Bar on the top floor, and that its 15 minutes closer to my office, and quite a good Gym. None of which make up for the rest.

I typically would never stay here, preferring instead the Grand Hyatt which is in the same price bracket and significantly nicer. Sometimes however I have no choice due to late bookings, or group events that somehow get scheduled here, sadly that's been my last two visits.

The first thing, aside from the dated feel of the lobby, is the elevator system. One of these ridiculous "enter your floor number and I'll point you to an elevator that will take forever to arrive". I am sure this system must be the product of some undergrad university assignment, they failed. Inevitably you will enter your floor number and be instructed to ignore the empty elevator that has already arrived, and go wait 5 minutes for one of the others. Worse, if you are on any floor and want to go to the bar, or the gym, you have no directory so you have to guess, enter a number, get in, see the directory (unhelpfully inside the elevator where, unhelpfully, there are no buttons) travel to the floor you selected, get out, selected a new floor, wait another 5 minutes for a new elevator to arrive (being unable to rejoin the available one you just vacated). Ridiculous! Took me 20 mins to get from my room to the lobby one evening.

Next problem is the room, whilst it's relatively spacious and modern, mine stunk of smoke. Assuming there was a mistake I asked for a change to a non-smoking room. Apparently however my room was non-smoking, and the only non-smoking one left in the hotel. The fact that it clearly stunk of smoke, and that there was an ash tray beside the bed clearly for the use of smoking cigarettes seemed lost on the receptionist. I gave up, and suffered for the week as a result. There was also no towels in the room, something I discovered after getting out of the shower.

Sky Bar on the top floor does have a good view, but the service is slow, it does also feel sleazy with red lights and a cheap cover band playing old hits. It also looks like it was last decorated in the 1970's and reeks of cheap cigarettes and spilt beer. The food is ordinary to bad.

The restaurant below the Sky Bar is not so bad food wise, the atmosphere is drab and the wine list disappointing though. You can eat here comfortably, have a good meal, but you'll be bored and the bill will give you indigestion.

Then the breakfast, typical buffet, but questionable freshness of the pastries, and if fresh then questionable quality. The cereal (all I typically will eat). The coffee is terrible, and the service slow as anything. One morning I went down a bit later and they were re-arranging furniture, rather then pick up a table they dragged it across the floor with a sound like fingernails on a chalkboard... I stood up to pay my bill, and after 5 mins of them faffing about and not acknowledging me, I gave up and walked off without signing. Not a good start to any day.

Finally the WiFi, for a business hotel to have such unstable slow WiFi that keeps dropping connections and kicking you off of your VPN (if you can connect at all) is not acceptable.

Room Tip: The best room is the room at another hotel.

The rooms are spacious and modern. The hotel's location is ideal for a business trip, right on the main street in Casablanca. The hotel wifi is very poor - not up to the mark for a business hotel. The customer service is a bit slow and some of the staff is a bit unhelpful at times, maybe due to the language barrier? Very slow check in and check out.

Dear Guest,
I would like to thank you for your feedback, which is much appreciated and can only help us to improve our services.

We are pleased to read that you enjoyed your room and our location.

On the other hand , our internet connection is usually up to standards in regards to in house configuration and set up, please rest assured that our goal is to provide you the best internet connection that you need to fulfil your precious work, and the fact of keeping internet free in all hotel facilities including guest rooms even in Peak periods make a high demand on it. And that we are continuously working on that specific point with our internet provider, also I'm disappointed to hear that you did not have a good experience with our customer service also at our front office.

We apologize for not being able to meet your expectations there.

We do hope that you will give us the opportunity not only to welcome you back to the KENZI TOWER Hotel but also demonstrate to you the improvements we have made as a result of your constructive comments.

Respectfully,

Solid hotel in a good location. Lovely rooms (with nespresso machines) with comfortable beds and excellent bathrooms. The Sky Bar really does offer incredible views across the city.

Why not 5*s? We tried to order some bar snacks in the Sky Bar but were told food was not available until later - no problem until we saw food delivered to another guest. Additionally there are a lot of porters/concierge staff standing outside but none that seem all that willing to help you get a taxi.

I stayed at the Kenzi Tower for 12 days business trip. The room and bathroom is a great size, the service is friendly if somwhat sluggish.
My main complaints is the stupid elevator system... and the absolutly dreadful wi-fi system. How can a hotel cater to the business community with a weak and unreliable wi-fi system... it is not as if the Kenzi gives you an option to connect to the internet using a cable.

Concerning our lifts, the hotel is running with 4 lifts exclusively for guests, it happens rarely that there all engaged at the same time. We do believe that our guest time is valuable that’s why we are working hard to minimize the time you are spending waiting for the elevator.

We do apologize for the inconveniences that you faced, please give us the opportunity to serve you better in the near future.

After experiencing riads across the country, this hotel, while elegant, was pretty standard. Our room and the services were fine – clean and stylish. I don’t think that finding an interesting riad is much of an option in Casablanca, which is a very bustling city. The breakfast buffet, however, was pretty amazing.

Kenzi is a great hotel in all aspects apart from the irritating lifts!!! It is vibrant and has great views from the high floors. However, the service is not great and there is much miscommunication between guest and staff but overall it is a nice experience with a relaxing spa!!!
