“Food lets it down”
Reviewed January 31, 2013 via mobile

We've just come back from visiting with our friends for the third time to this hotel abducted what can I say £520 all inclusive for two weeks is a bargain
Rooms are basic but clean bed was hard mind
Staff are lovely abducted a smile handshake and small tip now and again go a long way
Hotel grounds are good shows are great shops are good and the best prices are on your doorstep
Drinks are plentiful although the shorts are a bit harsh
Walk down the harbour and it's beautiful and the restaurant s are cheap and excellent food

Now the bad bit it's food
It's awful.our friends saw a cockroach in the main dining area we saw a few outside in the evenings it put us off to the point one of our friends wouldn't eat in the hotel anymore and booted for little Norway just out of the complex which is the best restaurant in agadir
So be warned extra spending money to eat out is gonna be needed at this hotel unless Thompson's steps in grows some balls and sorts the food out
Any questions please feel free to message me

Well we have been back home a week and I can honestly say I'm missing it , had a fantastic time again here , yes if your looking for 5star don't book , but if your looking for a fun time and some where clean to get your head down then book , it's clean and friendly , and whilst we were there , it was all having a lick of paint where needed , the weather was fantastic 1 day of rain in 2 weeks , it does get chilly on a night so jumpers needed there is something to eat for everyone , but I did tend to eat in a place called the little Norway just round the corner fantastic food there and a great steak

Literally just got back from here yesterday, and despite the staff at the hotel being really great, i would never return. The food was the worst i have ever eaten! I have stayed in a number of All Inclusive hotels and I have never had an issue with the food as i am happy to try anything and love a mediterranean diet which is what you tend to get, however in this hotel there was very little choice and everything was cold!
We had to move room when we arrived due to the balcony overlooking a busy road to one side and a rubbish dump opposite! The next room was a slight improvement but as others have commented, the patio doors were not secure. The rooms are extremely dated and dark, there are no baths in the bathroom if that's important to you and they are cold during the winter months. There is a charge for the TV remotes if you wish to obtain one from reception.
The hotel is a good distance (approx 25 mins walk) down to the the marina with its bars and restaurants. There are a few to the front of the hotel but at times (generally late at night) i just did not feel safe or secure on that street, it was a different matter on the beach side.
Also, the hotel has many 'shops' within its grounds and the stall holders can be quite persistant in trying to get you to come in and you kind of have to 'run the gauntlet' as you go between your room to the restaurant or to the bar or the pool.
On a postive note, as mentioned earlier, the bar staff, snack bar staff and the animators were all great.

We went on the 27th of dec to celebrate the new year in sunshine. When we booked this holiday we were completely realistic paying £500 each for all food and drink for 7 nights over the new year we knew that we would get what we paid for. We listened to so many people moaning that it was not as expected too basic it's 3 star what do you expect!
Rooms were very basic but clean and quite spacious. Our room did have a broken front door which did take a while to sort out but found that in the Caribbean village a tip gets everything sorted quickly so after spending 2 hours trying to get it fixed frustrated by language barrier etc flashing some cash incentive had it fixed in 5 mins language barrier no longer a problem.
All pool areas were very clean and sun beds were not an issue. Found the alcohol was much stronger during the day than in evening sometimes you couldn't taste the alcohol in your drink. Tried all restaurants which were pleasant as we had 15 in our group booking the restaurants enabled us to all sit together which wasn't really possible in main restaurant but food was much better in main restaurant. Out of the restaurants Moroccan one was defiantly the best.
The main bar did close earlier every night than advertised in Thomson brochure sometimes staff were trying to close up at 10.30 which was a bit odd, the entertainment bar by the pool stayed open late but evenings are so cold and standing outside was like an endurance challenge especially with kids so had some early nights.
If I had a bit of advice when going here be realistic your not paying for the ritz so don't expect too much, the food is edible, on the main drinks were good, weather was excellent during day(take coats for night and ladies trousers not skirts and dresses for evening it's too cold) tip plenty it goes a long way to make the holiday more enjoyable. I wouldn't go here again but had a good time.

Stayed here for 11 nights at the end of November. Caribbean Village is a three star hotel, so don't expect 4 star service. Go with an open mind and you will be pleasantly surprised as we were. After all your holiday is what you make it and we had the best time.

The rooms are basic, with a separate toilet to the shower and sink. TV has a few English channels and plenty of plug sockets to use. Our electricity did go off a couple of times but after reporting to reception it was fixed straight away, turned out to be a problem with the block and not just our room! Balcony was very small so we never used it, although the cleaners did like to leave the balcony doors open after they had cleaned the room, fine if your on the 1st floor and above but our room was on the ground floor and wasn't really appreciated.

Room was cleaned daily with beds made and fresh towels provide. Towels weren't the best, old rough and most with holes/tears but you could change them everyday so didn't cause any real problems. Even with our do not disturb sign on our door, we were awoken at 8am each morning by the cleaners having a 'meeting' outside our room in French!

We didn't experience any problems with the restaurant with regards to service and finding a table. We did befriend our waiter at our first meal and he looked after us throughout our stay. He saved us a table with clean cutlery and brought us drinks and fresh bread each meal. We didn't tip him until our last meal either! Breakfast was by far the best meal of the day, fresh made to order omelette and fried eggs plus English Tea which will cure your need for a 'brew'. Lunch and Dinner varied each day with a mixture of beef, pork, chicken and fish dishes plus salad, chips and bread. Desserts were available but these didn't really take my fancy.

There are three bars, one by reception which serves drinks 10.30am until 11pm, the pool bar which serves drinks until 12am and a pool bar buy the heated pool at the top, this only serves soft drinks during the day. There could do with being a little more atmosphere in the bar by reception, a little music would go along way. The pool bar is where the animation team spend their evenings and unless you want to join in and be constantly pulled up to dance and play other games I wouldn't recommend. I don't think the animation team were told what no means when learning English as they were VERY PUSHY! We didn't have any problems with other members of staff and only tipped the bar staff when they brought our drinks to our table. There is also mini golf, tennis, badminton, football, volleyball and the spa and gym available.

We found the pools relaxing but the beach was more our scene, not even 5 mins walk from the back of the hotel and we won't hassled much either. The small hut at the beach allowed us to get soft drinks throughout the day. You can order sandwiches to be delivered to the beach at dinner time, but I wouldn't bother, they were dry hard baguettes which taste like chewing bricks. I'd walk back to the hotel, we left our belongings and nothing ever went missing. We went jet skiing and I would highly recommend, there's also a McDonald's and Pizza Hut about 5 mins walk to the right of the beach. There's also an ice cream shop which has hundreds of flavours. The Marina is a further 15 mins walk from these but worth is as there are some nice family owned restaurants and some nice shops such as Zara, Puma and La Coste.

Bottled water is only available from reception between 7 and 11 pm and it's only one 2 litre bottle per room! Towels are provided for a small deposit of 100 dirham per towels, these can be exchanged every other day and the deposit returned when you hand your towel back.

We used the shop and money exchange towards the back of the hotel by the towel exchange but found you get better deals at the money exchange and shop at the front of the hotel. If you walk out from reception and cross over the road and go down the steps you will see them in front to the right.

We had the best time in Morocco and wouldn't hesitate to go back again and we would stay at The Caribbean Village again as we don't really spent that much time in our room for basic to be a major issue.

hotel not very good food was not very good would not go back to this hotel bar staff where bad if your french your be ok as all they seemed to ever do was talk in french, which they are also ment to speak in english and german so that everyone knew what was planned for the day and night so there was a massive comminucational barrier as it was hard to ask what excursions to go on so either pre book them or go to the beach to find out for info, food was the same in afternoon as night time drinks were weak unless you tip them lights went off in bar at 11pm WHICH DOES SAY THIS ON THOMSON no more drinks were served unless you wanted to walk down to the other bar which was rather irritating as its not right outside!! the maids were pleasent and the weather was amazing apart from the freezing cold pool which was unbearable to get in!! I would reccomend this hotel if you are on a budget and dont mind slumming it!! ps theres a really nice hotel down the road!!

Room Tip: rooms need up dateing big time!! felt abit retro
