“Spacious, Family Hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2013

Arrived here with my Partner & 3 children the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Our cases were taken to our room, the lobby area by reception is very nice and looks very ethnic and cultural. The apartment consisted of a bathroom with a fast shower and all marbled floor with a large mirror in front of the sink. The kitchen area had a electric two stove cooker which was very slow the fridge was ok, not great took forever to keep things cold. The kitchen was a bit of a downer as we came for self catering so i had to buy some cooking pots. The lounge area was good the sofas went all around the room almost like a corner unit and this is where my children all slept. The bedroom had a double bed and a small sofa bed and a dressing table and mirror. The balcony looked upon the hospital and dusty roads and scenery.

The walk to the beach was quite far and the taxis are ripp offs, i would advise everyone to be very firm with them and tell them to put their meter on the taxi on as at first they were charging £15 just to the town centre!!! when it should have been £4 max!

Always ask prices first don't believe people when they say its free or try this - resist it as the people are very cunning however they are friendly. Dont be afraid to haggle in the souks as you can get lots of bargains, and dont be taken in by the spice man as he will ripp you off and offer you tea LOL!

The beach was very nice looking up at the mountain.
water sports on the beach also
Mcdonalds and pizza hut are okay not good value for money though.
Not keen on the moroccan food was craving home english food!

Overall a lovely holiday would go again!

Glad I didn't rely on other people's reviews of this hotel when booking. It was good value for money, not far at all from the beach and the shops (10 mins walk), quiet, clean and spacious.
I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Room Tip: Twin rooms don't have tea/ coffee making facilities so bring a travel kettle for your room.

Staff were overall good and the lounge area was good. These are the only positives.

On arrival we were given the wrong room. The Hotel itself is very far from the beach and town centre and far from anything resembling community. Wi fi was only available near the concierge. The hotel restaurant was average with poor dinner menu. The breakfast however was absolutely terrible. Bread was hard, un-edible, there were flies in the jam and in most food, coffee was terrible and there was no such thing as juice. These were diluted poor quality drinks.

During dinner I accidently dropped my knife. I called the waiter and asked if he can bring me another. He said sure, yes. After he left he never came back! GONE! so I used a knife from a nearby table.

The worse was when my friend woke up with massive bed bug bites all over his body, they were swollen, big and all over his body. The bed sheets were in terrible state. The front desk people were frightened at first sight of him. They quickly sent cleaners to have them removed and room be cleaned.

Local medicine did not work. So he had to be seen by GP in UK. These bites took 4 weeks to heal.

Agadir was great but I would not reccommend this hotel. Pay a little extra and stay some where else.

Room Tip: Stay Away from this hotel.

The first night we arrived we had no curtains on the window, and towels but because we arrived late into Morocco we decided to wait until Morning which they had already known about and quickly fixed the problem. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to young couples, as I stayed with my partner for the week we had to travel by Taxi everywhere. the good side he beach was only a 5/6 minute walk away. Staff in the hotel was friendly but I wouldn't suggest changing your money in the hotel, do it in the airport when you arrive, you will get a receipt of what the exchange rate was and how much you got so it was safer. Night life was a bit dull around the area, we where told the Entertainers wife went into Labour and he couldn't be here for the week , but I read about that story happening a few times before with the entertainer. oh and watch out for the orange Taxis some try to rip you off. other then that the holiday was injoyable and relaxing :)

The first room they allocated when we arrived, was dirty and the beds were not made. After complaining they allocated a clean room. The next day we asked for room with a sea view. Imat who was on the reception gave us a room with a sea view the next day. Wow! what a difference...a nice view of the old Kasbah hill and the sea instead of building work. Every evening you could see the beautiful sunset. Very large size bedroom and living room.
The breakfast was very basic, but the dinner was nice. We had Tajine most times. We had car parking space all the time in front of the hotel. Outdoor Swimming pool was not busy and we all enjoyed the pool. You need to pay for the indoor pool / Jacuzzi. The shop in the hotel sell goods at a reasonable price. The staff are very friendly, they even lent us travel adapter.
This was the cheapest half board hotel we could find and we were happy with our selection.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view to the Old kasbah hill

The property itself is beautiful, lots of marble, nice furnishings. Lack of attention to detail shows in worn/dirty upholstery in lobby, dusty plants, semi-clean room. Counters were not clean - spots and cup/glass circles, complained to no effect. Even asked for rag and cleaning supplies, was told "you can buy them in the shop". Not the right answer. The room itself was very nice, large, comfortable, nice terrace. Bathroom was spacious but again, not up to standard of cleanliness. Large flat screen TV a plus, one channel in English, fortunately a movie channel with decent films. Promised WiFi, but seldom worked during the first 2-3 days of the stay. When it did work it was fast. Location, except for the construction going on all around, was good, walking distance to shopping center, about 10 minutes, or $1.00 taxi. Has private beach available to guest for about $3.50/pp/day. Staff was 50/50 in terms of service, some very good, some very bad. Booked a couple of tours, prices are negotiable, so be prepared to bargain.

This hotel was highly recommended by a close friend who has stayed there in the past. After comparing notes on our return it was clear we did not have the same experience.
First we had called in advance to discuss price and were told no problem we will match the Internet pricing, no need to book online. Well, lesson learned, don't trust a supposed reputable establishment. This is not one.
Had we enjoyed a great experience the first disappointment may not have been so bad, but that was not the case. First, the hotel saves money by keeping the lights off. You have to struggle in the dark to find the switch in the hotel hallways to turn on the lights. When we reached our room we were greater by a trail of ants. When we reported this to the front desk we were told, the ants are common, we have a spray for that, I'll send the guy up. No guy showed up.
The room was average and it had a decent bathroom & shower. Don't expect shampoo & soap without asking.
The hotel must be the only local open to the public bar that has a big screen TV. After a relaxing day at the beach we arrive to no parking spaces in site & as we entered the hotel a wave of smoke that was overwhelming. We were told that most of the spectators were local & parking spaces would open up after the game.
Upon our check out the hotel could not process our credit card. Luckily we had a check. The customer is not the priority or ever right here. The icing on the cake was when we asked for the senior manager, as we were dealing with the front desk receptionist, and we're told I'm in charge & my decision stands. We cut this trip short & headed back to Cassablanca.
What really sums this experience up is this hotel charges western rates, but does not provide western customer service. To clarify, there was no communication gap as 4 of the 5 travelers spoke Arabic.
