i really enjoyed my trip to agadir in july. i celebrated my birthday whilst there and my other half told the dining staff and they turned out the lights and brought me a cake and candles and sang happy birthday! very embarrassing but much appreciated.
we had to wait ages at check in (an hour) which really took the shine off our arrival. also unlike other reviewers on tripadvisor we were not offered any refreshments. if we'd chosen a top floor room we wouldn't have waited but people have said it gets too hot (there's no roof over the balcony on top floor rooms.)
the pool is lovely, the food is fantastic especially breakfast and the desserts. i loved all the fresh fruit and fresh juices and as we were half board it was all 'free'!!! there's a 'library' on the ground floor near the toilets past the staircase where people leave behind their books and magazines and newspapers and there's loads of choice and many different languages.
I didn't get to try a massage but i did use the sauna - it's free so take advantage, it's very relaxing and private.
it didn't really matter that ramadan fell during our stay. we never struggled to get a taxi - we walked 2 minutes to the main road to avoid being ripped off. tip: always greet the driver with 'salam al akoum' and insist on the meter being turned on. just point to it if they can't understand you.
unfortunately the weather sucked for half our stay - grey skies all day long. warm but no sunshine at all so no sunbathing.
i really enjoyed staying in a small hotel instead of a farm like big hotel. it wasn't expensive either - £500 total for 2 people in a four star hotel for seven nights half board is great value. we booked directly through the hotels website.
the room itself was perfect - nice big tv - massive comfy bed and sofa, balcony with outside light table and chairs and sea view but as it's so far away (7 minute walk) you can barely see anything
the bathroom was nice but the shower pressure was a little low. the free toiletries are great quality - i suggest you use the body lotion, it's infused with argan oil and way to good to be giving away for free! i wish i knew where to buy some!
so basically we had a great time and although we won't be going back to agadir it's nothing to do with the hotel as it was great and i strongly recommend you stay here instead of the large impersonal hotels, i'm sure i wouldn't have had a better stay anywhere else for the price we paid.
salam al akoum!
