We returned to this hotel as a family to celebrate my daughters 40th birthday
From the moment we walked in the door to the morning we left, we had the most amazing time
The staff remembered us from January and made our holiday very special
On the birthday day, from midnight to midnight, the staff were wonderful and my daughter did not want it to end
It is all the staff that make this hotel a very special place and we cannot wait to return again

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the nightclub

Just needed a warm relaxing break from cold and stress of UK, but not to far away. This most certainly provided it. The hotel was the cleanest I have EVER stayed in. It was smaller than most of the Riu but that added to the charm and personal service. The food was fantastic, maybe not as much choice as some of bigger hotels but made up for it with the quality. The food cooked in tagines incredible. There was always a sunbed available if not the pool attendants were readily able to find and place one. We had a room overlooking the pool and never heard any noise from night club at all although some guests above it complained and were soon moved. There were mostly English and French guests and everyone was really pleasant no drunks or rowdys. The animation team were friendly but not pushy, the evening entertainment excellent and we try normally to give that type of thing a miss. The majority of staff could not do enough for you with a smile on their face not their hand out for tips but when tipped were very grateful. The beach was long and sandy with hotel private area with beds and attendants, but it was quite windy when we were there and the sand and sea whipped up. The walk along the very long wide promenade to the new marina was relaxing. We only went for a rest so didn't venture on trips but those guests who went enjoyed the Atlas mountains and found the Souk an experience for some not to be repeated! We do not normally return to a hotel there are to many places to experience in the world but this is such a convenient short flight we intend to return to this hotel in Sept.

This was described as a 4 star plus by Thomson which I would disagree with. We originally wanted the Tikida Dunis which is next door but were pipped to the post as it was full. We arrived at 23.30 hrs to a warm welcome from staff and a very spacious, clean and nicely decorated room. However we were on the second floor above the very loud nightclub playing "house" music (I'm only 32 yrs old so goodness knows what the more senior residents thought). The base reverberated through the walls and floor so there was no getting away from it which we found quite amuzing but we asked to move and weer told it was no problem, as soon as guests checked out the next day we could change rooms. We were relocated to 319 which was much better but this wasn't until 3 pm the next day so we couldn't really get settled until this was done. This is a nice hotel with lovely friendly and polite staff yet I feel it is really a 4 star minus. Decor is a little 70's, 2 single beds which was a little disappointing-you would expect 2 doubles or a king for a double room, public areas a little cramped in places and pool smaller than expected. Food fairly repetitive. This hotel could do with an additional pool to cater for numbers and some modern touches in the bar and restaurants. Agadir is lovely.

Would definitely recommend this hotel, we had an amazing holiday, entertainment was brill best we've seen on any foreign holiday, food was varied and always very good, rooms were spacious and very clean with everything you'd need, staff were very helpful, trips were good value for money, the Souk trip is a must, everywhere around the resort was very clean and very safe to go out walking day or night, pools very nice, gardens well kept, money well spent :-)

This was our 3rd time at this hotel, we usually go in early March, the temperature is perfect and only a 3 hr flight makes it an ideal destination for some Winter sun. The hotel is in a great location, right on the beach, and offers everything we need. The rooms are spacious and well equipped, all with balcony. It is worth paying the small, extra charge for a pool view as these rooms are sheltered from the afternoon breezes that tend to blow up most days. The service is excellent from the very friendly staff, there is a good variety of food on offer, catering for all tastes, as well as the traditional Moroccan dishes. There are daily activities available if you want to participate and a spa (this is an extra cost) if you fancy a massage; there is also entertainment on every evening, which is okay. The majority of guests are french, either famillies or over fifties. There are a lot of steps for anyone with walking difficulties. This is an ideal resort and hotel for a chill out week.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a pool view (sea view is too windy to sit on balcony) and if they put you over the...

Just returned from a week at the Tikida Beach Hotel. Absolutely fantastic. The staff are amazing. The food is varied and drinks are plentiful. No lager louts, just "nice" people. Can't wait to return. Please don't change anything at the hotel. You can't improve on perfection!

Room Tip: Ask for 4th floor with pool view.

Stayed with a friend having requested a 'quiet' apartment each with Thomson and were delighted to find we had this with the added bonus of large rooms overlooking the sea and the pool. The room maids are a gem and leave your room spotless and are very polite in a friendly way. All staff are quick to identify your needs and preferences which are guaranteed with a small 20 D tip after service and a short, polite response in French from you.

Food choice is great for all tastes and although I loved their fish, the roast duck carved for you was delicious and even roast pork was cooked one night despite this being against Muslim culture. Great for veggies too and they do fab potatoes in many ways and lovely cauliflower cheese. Got addicted to adding natural yoghurt with figs , other fruits and honey to start breakfast, followed by egg dishes and pastries. The sweets in the evening were too varied to mention but gorgeous and reckon this is why the French stay here as pastry chef must be good.

Weather was windy most days which gave low humidity so you do not sweat but gave a nice tan, so beware and use factor 30 if you are a medium tanning Brit. Beach area is roped off for our use only, with bar staff attending and a great place to watch everything and meet the locals at the sea edge which is always a surf riders paradise.

Pool is a magnet for children and some who go topless ( not sure why they think this ok with Muslim women on holiday there too, but hey ho). Pool terrace bar is my preference to eat lunch along with a bottle of rose wine which is your best bet and i am a red wine person . You will not get Gordons gin if expecting this as all drinks are branded locally. Look for waiter called Hishaam and he will get you really great mint tea after or before alcohol and is a young hard working family man with great attention to you and a great smile when you say it " was good".

In all, this was a great relaxing holiday as I was restricted having had a wrist fracture before going, so only did Agadir trip, train route and walked the promenade or beach. You will get hassled to buy things but " non merci " , sunglasses and keep on walking, will work if you are not interested. Beds are the best I have ever slept in , so along with the great cleanliness , save a bigger tip for the maids.
