“Great Complex”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

I have stayed at El Pueblo Tamlelt many times and it is a great place. The staff are fantastic especially Brahim in the snack bar , nothing is too much trouble for him. The breakfasts are great, fresh cooked omelettes of your choice or fried or boiled or scrambled eggs, fruit, cheese, fresh orange juice, All wonderful.
Great choice of drinks on AI, plus late night snacks on pizza. Rooms basic but clean, Christmas here is wonderful and great effort is made for Europeans.
Every stay has been good, the only down side has been the food in the special a la cart restaurnats, not good at all.

Room Tip: Maxwells next door is a great stop off, try the onion soup, ask if it is not on the menu. La Scala g...

Stayed for a week at this hotel and it was very good value for the money. The food was well presented and there was an excellent variety of both hot and cold foods, meat, vegetables, salads and desserts. One tip though they do seem to run out of cups several times at breakfast so if you have your own with you take it to breakfast. There are 6 themed restaurants. we tried the Japanese and the Steak House, didn't enjoy either and ended up back at the Oasis. We also tried the Moroccan and that was great. The drinks were also fine, red and white wine were very good, no restrictions on spirits all were on offer as part of the AI.
There are several swimming pools, although only two were heated, but be warned sunbeds go early. The grounds and the hotel was very clean, and our room was spotlessly clean thanks to our lovely maid Fabia. We had a family room as we were 3 adults and although basic it was huge. We had 2 separate bedrooms with twin beds and another single bed in the lounge area. Bathroom area is a bit small, but the toilet is separate and there was plenty of hot water and the pressure was good no matter the time of day.
There is a lovely restaurant just outside the hotel called La Lampara which does lovely coffees and the food is excellent if you fancy a change from the hotel. We also tried the Spa and it was very good value for money the massages are fantastic ! So good we went back for another the day before we flew home. The hotel is just a short walk from the beach and the beautiful promenade which stretches all along the bay. Promenade is spotlessly clean, and as 3 females we felt perfectly safe walking there.
As we were only there a week we only had time for one trip, which we booked with the guy just outside the front of the hotel to Marrakesh. Trip was good value for money with a guide and lunch included. But would give lunch a miss it was dire, the restaurant was in a hotel that has been there for 95 years. It looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in all those years. there were cats roaming freely in the restaurant and even they wouldn't eat the chicken we were served !
All in all the holiday was good value of money, and we had no complaints about the hotel. For a cheap week away it was perfect.

This hotel was an excellent hotel, situated just right for a short walk to the beach, and the resort. The food was weel presented, manu items cooked as you waited by very pleasant chefs, and was what you come to expect when you are all inclusive. There was an excellent variety of both hot and cold salads, and meat and vegetables. There was a very good choice of themed restaurants if you prefer as well as the main one. There were several swimming pools, although only two were heated, but these were warm enough to swim in for this time of the year. We booked all our trips with a travel company situated just outside the back gate, by the tennis courts, and found them to be very relaiable, helpful, and had good english speaking guides. They were a good half of the price quoted by the travel company inside the hotel, but we found them to be really helful, especially when we had to change the day of one trip at the very last minute to another day., They did this with absolutely no priblem at all. I would recommend them every time. The hotel was very clean, and our maid was lovely, keeping our room spotless. The staff were always courtious and helpful the majority of the time, and a small tip occasionally made them a friend for the whole holiday. The only fault we found with the hotel, and it was one that seems to be the world over, were the german tourist, in all our travels over the world we have never come up against such agression and violence as we did here towards us. The towels were out by 6.30 in the morning, and one particular day because we chose to try and use a sun umbrella that was NOT EVEN PUT UP my husband was subjected to verbal and physical abuse. We reported this to the management, who accompanied us to the spot, and the manager was then verbally abused. Her response to us was to move to a different place in the hoyel as they have plenty of pools where we could sit. We do realise that there was very little she could do, but we felt that at least she could have firmly spoken to the group involved, they were about 15 in total, and done a little more that she did. However, apart from taking verbal abuse from this group every time we walked past, (which we had to do to get to the main complex) we had a wonderful holiday, and it was they who are letting their country down, and giving an extremely bad impression of german people, of who I am sure there are far more nicers ones than bad. I will add photos of our trip at a later date, and hope this review has been helpful. One final statement I would make is that this area is mainly french speaking, so it does help with your languages.

Room Tip: We had Block G which was a very short walk from the main arena, so therefore a bit quieter. lovely.

Just read the previous review and understand the comments but for us (mum with 15 & 12 yr old) it was absolutely perfect.
Completely agree that it's worth making a friend of the barmen and waiters which we did early on and were treated almost like Royalty at times. Once they know you they go to great lengths to look after you.
As soon as we walked into the restaurant, one of the two waiters we befriended organised our table and got our drinks for us.
In the bars where the drinks can be a bit weak, 'our' barman made mine exactly how I like it.
My only issue was getting sun beds in the morning and I did do the 7.30 thing to make sure we had them but we found out that if you get yourself another 'friend' around your choice of pool, he'll reserve your beds for you too!

The animation team are brilliant. We are not the sort of family who like to get involved with the 'Agadir' dance but appreciate others do and the team are great at including you if that's your thing.
They provided great company for my two, lots of laughs and banter, and like everyone we met, were just the friendliest people I've come across.

We found the heated pools warm enough and spent a lot of time in them as did loads of other people although I can see that they may be too cold for babies & toddlers.

Definitely bring a jumper for the evenings at this time of year.

Rooms are lovely with loads of storage space but bathrooms definitely need a refresh so just be aware. However plenty of hot water and decent shower and the rooms like everywhere else are cleaned regularly.

Book the speciality restaurants and go for the snack bar for lunch. You get served in these and it's a pleasant change from the main restaurant.
We had breakfast at 10 am everyday and it was pretty empty.

You can get Internet by the main pool bar as well as the reception.

Go with the view it's a 3 star (which we felt is underrated) and with a positive view and you'll have a brilliant time.

Haven't done that many package holidays but we would all definitely go back and are thinking about doing so in October.

Traveling alone with my three children (14,10 & 1) I made sure I read up as much as I could before I left, but here are some of the things that you may find useful:

1. Landing at the airport
The porters are cheeky and will look upon your tip and ask for more in 'English coin' so maybe keep a pound handy.

2. The transfer
If you havent already booked with your hol don't worry, it won't be more than 10-15 pound, but make sure you agree a price before you leave, they are mostly trustworthy but there will be the odd one to push his luck.

3. The tourist tax cost me around 49 pound for a family of 4 for 10 days, which was less than I expected.

4. The 'hire' of a safe is essential, however it isn't 'hire' as they don't give you your money back ( which was around 25 pound)

5. It's colddddd of a night and if you are lucky to have a heater- they are not so good so make sure you take your thermals ( there are no seals on doors and most windows don't stay closed!)

6. Make friends with the waiters on your first day, you'll find it helps when trying to get a table at meal times as they will do their best to get you seated, otherwise you could end up sharing with other visitors- who won't be too pleased about you disrupting their dinner!

7. Be prepared for towel wars. I'd recommend taking your own towel and setting your alarm for 7.30 to nip out in your pjs to get a bed, especially of you have kids as those closer to the pool will never be free otherwise.

8. The 'heated' pools, aren't so heated.

9. Make use of the themed restaurants and book yourself in for the respective nights when you get there, we missed out on a couple as they were fully booked.

10. Don't expect a hot drink. Between 4-6 as at the change of shifts no one wants to create more dishes so you will find a lot of 'broken machines' at these times. Which is a real pain when you're not one of the adults making use of the unlimited alcohol.

11. There are no 'diet' soft drinks. Also a pain when you don't like coke, sprite or the abnormally orange fanta. Juice can be hard to get hold of too.

12. Have breakfast before 9, otherwise you will end up sitting next to someone.

13. Use the snack bar for lunch, the waiter service is a pleasant change. (this is also included in the all inclusive but not advertised).

14. Shop in the supermarket next to reception, it's half the price of the site shops.

15. Don't feel harassed by the shop keepers on site. There are fixed price shops just outside the hotel and down the road to the right, there you can get a feel of what things are actually worth when you are bartering. They WILL rip you off, but in the most charming of ways!

16. Keep your change for tipping the porters in the airport on your way home.

All in all a nice week away. The little zoo down the road is within walking distance and the pizza hut, McDonalds and an ice cream parlour is just over the road from it. The staff are helpful and pleasant but most of the other tourists are french. Wifi is only available in the Libby of the sister hotel and you can't always get a connection. TV channels in the room are rubbish so maybe a travel DVD for kids if you need some distractions when in the room. The rooms are spacious and I had plenty of storage- a pleasant change!

Agadir itself is a bit if a dump, nothing much there apart from the few hotels located around Tamlelt.

Good value for money, would consider going back. I hope this has been useful!

After reading lots of review about this place prior to booking it I decided to go for it anyway regardless of a few negative comments. And Im so glad we did as from the moment we got there the service from all staff was first class right up to when we got in the taxi to airport home ( we recommend this instead of a coach as its only 220dhr each way £15 ).I think alot of people have to realise is that this is budget holidaying not 5+ star all inc so as long as staff are polite, friendly and helpful whats the problem unless your rude to them what do you expect ? Its a good cheap holiday for the price and if you want to be worshiped and waited on hand and foot all week pay twice the price and go elsewhere..

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from main pool due to animation team everyday....

For me this "simple" hotel is worth 3,5*.
Reception looks very old fashioned but staff is friendly and they will help you anyway they can.
I was staying solo in this hotel so for me the room was adequate and clean.
A lot of people are coming back year after year during winter for 2-3 months. I might do the same next year.
I was in Tamlelt in January 2013 for 10 days and payed 520 euros All Inclusive.
Nights were cold but there was heating in the rooms. Days were very sunny, about 20° Celsius upto 32.
Lots of facilities too, severeal swimming pools (2 heated), 10 minutes walk to the beach, tenniscourt, 6 or 7 restaurants.
Lots of stairs.I wouldn't recommend it to people who have trouble to walk.
Good value for money!

Room Tip: If you don't like your room just ask another one, thats no problem out of season.
