Atlantic Palace Agadir
Ranked #32 of 77 Hotels in Agadir
Reviewed April 19, 2014

The Atlantic Palace is a hotel for the discerning visitor. Their attention to the care and comfort of their guests is unsurpassed. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who maintain the pristine condition of every aspect of the hotel facilities.
This year we were accompanied by our granddaughter and her parents creating an age-range in our party of seven months to seventy years all extremely well catered for - up to and including the provision of a baby car safety seat.
Having stayed in the past in other 5-star and 4-star hotels in Agadir the Atlantic Palace, in our view by far the the best.

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent.

We spent a week bed and breakfast in the Atlantic Palace in February 2014. A super hotel, nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were always smiling, the room was spacious and extremely comfortable with a lovely balcony looking out on the gardens, where one could go to read in peace and quiet - tho'the whole hotel was quiet. The public rooms were magnificent and prices for a 5star were not over the top. But - location is everything and the Atlantic Palace has it. A short stroll from some of the best restaurants in Agadir and a lovely pub-restaurant - the Maxwell near by - we knew we had made a good choice. The Taj Mahal restaurant in the hotel itself is excellent on Moroccan food and well worth a visit. We will be back.

Room Tip: rooms overlook the pool or gardens, so garden rooms are quieter.

We just returend from 10 days spent in Agadir at the Atlantic Palace with a full board. We are a family of four, with two small kids. Overall the hotel is very nice, there are just little aspects which could be improved.
Pros for the hotel:
- big, clean rooms, the style of the hotel is very nice, no tall and impersonal building just small buildings scaterred around the pool.
- big pool but quite cold (for the time of the year); the kids' pool was heated which was ok
- very nice bar in the hall/reception area with great live music, very nice and big areas to chill around with moroccon decorations and furniture, perfect place to have a tea or an icecream.
- quiet area and close to a walking distance to the centre, plenty of available taxis
- nice staff, friendly and helpful, especially with the kids
- buffet food was ok but we found that the choice was rather limited (was also outside the season so there were not many guests)
- best deserts we ever had in a hotel, delicious cake and puddings, creme brullee, we are crazy about deserts and in many hotels the deserts look good but taste not great. here was excellent!
- 5 min walk to the beach and one of the most gorgeous promenade I have ever seen. The hotel has its own private beach a bit further (when arriving at the beach turn right, walk few min and it is indicated the name of the hotel on a pole)
To be improved in our opinion:
- for 9 days with full board we were not even once served cous-cous in the buffet restaurant. We found it totally strange as we love Moroccon cuisine and we were so happy to actually go to Morocco for the first time and eat all the goodies from the source. When we asked about it they told us that this an international buffet but they have in the premises a Moroccon restaurant where they serve the traditional dishes. But to go there we had to pay again the dinner (we already paid full board) and it only opened at 8 in the evening and with two young children was too late for us to eat. We were also surprised to find every evening pasta in the restaurant (speaking about traditional food:))
- also strange that with a full board we had to pay the drinks apart, whcih was not indicated by the travel agency. Ok I understand that we cannot have wine or some spirits but not even a bottle of drinkable water included? We found it stange, but maybe it is normal for some full board...
- not the fault of the hotel, but the travel agency indicated that there is an indoor pool, when we went there the pool was in a thalassotherapy centre and turned out to be called "a big jacuzzi with marine water" and the kids were not alowed (ha ha ha, I sould have explained to my 1 year old that she needs to wait outside)

Room Tip: if you have small kids in a pram ask for a room on the ground floor, the first and second floor do n...

The rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious. The staff are excellent - helpful, courteous, polite. This was my second visit with a group of ladies playing golf in Morocco, and we will be going back again next year.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the pool - sunnier and brighter.

My wife and I stayed in the hotel for seven night’s half board. This was our second stay in the hotel. While the hotel is a little dated the staff are extremely friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for Fatiha in reception while Youssef the concierge was available to our ever need. The food in the dining room was very good as was the pool side restaurant. The only disappointment was the staff in the Spa. To say they were rude would be a complete understatement from both the senior staff to the junior staff. It was disgraceful to see young girls working in the Spa to have such bad manners and it’s obvious they were taking their leads form the senior staff. I would go as far as to say that the Spa staff would take being called rude as a compliment. Overall I would recommend the Atlantic Palace but beware of the Spa staff.

Room Tip: Ground Floor Pool Side rooms have excellent patios.

The Hotel has seen better days, the rooms are simple but clean with comfortable beds, but far away from a five star hotel. The aera of the woolen blankets is over, and therefore they should be replaced by duvets.
The food is not bad, wile the breakfast buffet needs improvement. No direct beach access.

We are 4 persons from Norway and Sweden, who visited this hotel for the first time. For us a big and impressing hotel. We must say that the rooms didn`t disapoint us either: clean and cosy with hughe beds! The staff is very service-minded and helped us to bring our luggage to the hotelroom, the day after our arrival. Breakfast-buffè is ok. The bar is so nice and cosy with lovely pianoplaying and singing. The minus-thing is that it`s not allowed to buy at least water for private use, outside the hotel. We have travelled a lot and many times we have got that littlle extra service: a waterbottle per room and day. We will sure come back anyway: all over, we liked us very much!
