Spent a week here in November for some summer sun and can highly recommend the resort.
Only 30 minutes from the airport (which in itself was a delight as it is so quick to get through) it is a lovely, clean, friendly resort with the beach right on the doorstep. The room was a really good size with air conditioning and a nice balcony. The staff can not do enough for you especially if you are happy to engage them in conversation. Whilst the food is standard buffet fare, there is a hint of Moroccan cuisine with a different tagine each mealtime. Basically the food will cater to all.
Fortunately the pool area, whilst not quiet, was not utterly heaving so sun beds were always available and the pool was never full.
There are many activities organised for each day including aqua aerobics.
Outside of the hotel there isn't much to do - a visit to the Souk and a few excursions (avoid the camel trek, its a very boring 2 hours), but there are a few bars and restaurants about. However if you are after some reasonably priced winter sun then come to the Riu Tikida!

very nice hotel good holiday, but be warned if you go at the end of november the weather is not the best, we only had 2 days that we could sunbathe out of the week but still a very pleasant stay, the food was very good and the entertainment was not bad, the staff all very helpful

Room Tip: room 3146 was a great room, well its a suite that overlooks the sea and the pool, great room but far from the restaurant, no noise from anywhere.

We booked to go to this hotel before reading the reviews on here. All I will say is please ignore the negativity about the hotel and the service. Upon arrival, the hotel is a stunning building and sands out in the resort. We were given a drink and a map to our room. As we arrived at around midnight, they kept the restaurant open for anyone who wanted some food. The food was lovely and wasn't something left over from hours before, which has been one criticism on here. The rooms are huge and has everything you could want. The breakfasts were lovely including a champagne breakfast if you wanted it. The service was spot on and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Unlike other places, they wanted to do this and could tip after rather than tip and get the service which really stood out, we tipped for receiving a good service rather than obtaining a service. The quality and choice of food was outstanding at lunch time and for evening meals. The poolside was amazing, the option of four poster sun-loungers was really good and lots of space and didn't need to get up at 4am to get a decent spot!!

Only negatives we had was that there are a lack of sockets around the mirror to get ready, my girlfriend had to unplug the tv to get her straighteners right by the mirror. Secondly the bar staff at the poolside bar did tend to keep you waiting, especially if you were male!! But in context, it wasn't for an excessive amount of time. Finally, this isn't the hotels fault but as soon as you leave the hotel, you are bombarded with people hassling you to buy from them, literally putting stuff on you as you are walking past which really was annoying!

The assistant manager was brilliant and friendly and the staff are a credit to him, made us feel so special. The entertainment staff could be a little bit over the top to take part in activities, however they were really friendly and would come and chat to you and help you with anything.

On the whole, the hotel was amazing, staff brilliant and food gorgeous and not surprising this is called a palace, it genuinely looks like one.

An amazing experience and definitely worth a visit if you go to Morocco

If you fancy a quick getaway, ( 3 hour flight with a following wind) this is the place, weather is on a par with the Canaries, the hotel is superb, from the fantastic choice of food, to the spa, sunbeds, drinks to the very spacious rooms, the staff are helpful and friendly and 5 star is about right, will return.
