This is fairly close to our hotel so we decided to pop in. It is supposed to be free, and it even says on the board outside that it's free, but 2 pushy horrible security guards insisted we pay 10 dirhams per person!! This is only about 80p but due to his attitude and lack of English we decided to pay him as it probably would have been worth more than that anyway.
The first wildlife we encountered were the many feral cats with limbs missing and patchy fur - don;t be tempted to pick them up, they are everywhere. The place was smaller than expected, there was an array of birds and goats plus a monkey that looked like it wanted to end it all, probably due to the fact it was kept in a tiny cage alone!! The area was not that clean and there was not much in the way of information. Birds are kept in poor conditions in small cages and we felt sorry for them. We didn't stay there long as it didn't feel safe and we escaped through the gate before the security could demand more money - they were trying to get money out of someone else at the time!!
