We continue to be impressed with ISU every time we visit. Our daughter is excelling in her classes, making new friends and seeking out new adventures. We met a couple of her professors and were pleased with their comments about our daughter and the fact that they were willing to spend time speaking to us prior to a big football game.

Love the campus! It is simply amazing to think that such a beautiful campus exists here; a real hidden gem. When you tell people who have never visited Ames that your child goes to ISU, most people conjure up a picture of a few buildings in the middle of corn fields. The truth is far from it. Just walk the quad from the Union to the library and along the pond towards Friley, Helser and State Gym.

Only major disappointment of the weekend was the fact that most Ames restaurants do not take reservations. We tried to get into several restaurants and they all had 60 to 90 minute waits. Finally, we decided to drive to Des Moines and were able to get seated at a restaurant in Ankeny in less than 10 minutes. Well worth the 20 minute drive!

All in all, ISU did a great job welcoming the bill payers!

I have toured around this college campus a few times. The rolling hills, large trees, water features and pathways make for a good atmosphere for learning...or relaxing. I attended an urban campus and there was no place on that sprawling campus I would describe as relaxing, or a place to go where you could just clear your mind. ISU sets a scene that allows the students not just the proper facilities, but the right atmosphere for learning and getting ready to venture into the world.

First time for Parents' Weekend and ISU continues to impress us! Communication is top notch, events are always organized, and everything happens just as it is planned. Kudos to this year's committee for wonderful execution and for holding off the rain until after the big game! :)

My brother just started attending and the staff and faculty have been really helpful. The students that helped when he first moved in to his dorm were friendly and kind.
