If you are looking for great Mexican food in Ames, Cazador no longer is an option. The Rodriguez family has moved to West Palm Beach, Florida so next time you are there be sure to look up Margarita's Mexican Restaurant!

Have gone to Valentino's twice with party of 4 and of 6. Casual, comfortable atmosphere; sat at tables, pleasant waitress refilled drinks and checked on us often to see if our needs were being met. Tables wiped clean between patrons, restrooms clean and food bars well cared for.

The food: 4 food bars - salad, pizza, hot food and dessert.

Salad bar had fresh fruits and veggies, salads were ok, dressings all very good. Nice variety as well. Hot food bar had lasanga, pastas and GREAT variety of sauces; also, chicken, and the usual hot bar foods (mashed potatoes/gravy, soups, etc.). Pizza bar was enjoyable, with at least 12 varieties of pizza, including a few fun and delicious kinds, such as: bacon cheeseburger pizza, Mac n cheese, Mediterranean, veggie, and so forth. Crust good, not greasy like the big chain buffet crusts and the sauce tasted like a good pizza sauce. Not the best, but - very good. (The ranch chain sauce has always frightened me, because it tasted like bland tomoatoes out of can. Valentino's sauce is NOT like the ranch sauce.) Cheese is good too. Lower grade cheese is often oily, rubbery and bland, again, NOT here. Good quality sauce and cheese here.

In my opinion, this is a great place to take the family for a yummy meal with nice, clean environment and to enjoy friends and food. We were not rushed and enjoyed both food and friends each time. Desserts were fine. Nothing out of this world, but - included brownies, cookie bars, dessert pizzas, ice cream with lots of toppings and some "cobbler-like" hot desserts that others enjoyed. After indulging on spinach and artichoke pizza, I could not eat dessert either visit.

Will go back again. Good place to take friends from out of town when Hickory Park is full. :)

Just held our rehearsal dinner there and had folks from all parts of the country there. All were very impressed with the service and food! Great food for a very fair price! Thanks Again! Definitely would do again.
