You know, it wasn't terrible. The rooms were clean and not scary. The pool was fine for my kids. The hot tub seemed to be closed. The staff was friendly.
It's clearly an older property, but the beds were comfortable and it seemed pretty well maintained. It wasn't luxurious by any means (e.g., no shampoo or lotion or anything). We recently stayed at the Honey Creek Resort at Lake Rathbun, which was in a totally different class. These guys are going to need to up their game if they want to try to compete with that property. Maybe they don't. Maybe it's a completely different clientele. I'm not sure what the typical price differential is, but I heard a rumor that on a slow winter weekend, the rooms were going for close to the same price at the Resort.
I'd put this pretty much on par with a Super 8.
