Cars are more my husband's thing, but the art deco design of this building is a must see. And the downtown has great shops too!

This is one museum that you MUST see! It was probably even better than The Ford, and that's saying a lot.
We traveled about 2 hours out of our way to see the museum and boy was it worth it--the cars are absolutely amazing--it's hard to believe automobiles of the caliber were built in Auburn and Indianapolis, In.
You won't be disappointed visiting this museum--a really outstanding gift shop!

I first visited here about 20-25 years ago when they were struggling to get set up and started. Then, I visited again last year. This year, I went again. It is extremely interesting, to me, to see how cars evolved.

While I would love to drive around for a while in some of these old cars, I think the "while" would be short. Our newer cars have really come a long ways from their ancestors. It is also interesting to see how far astray were some visions of what "future" vehicles would look like. Fortunately, some functionality won out over the bulbous visions of what would be.

This was my 3rd visit to the museum, as I try to get to the Labor Day auction each year. The museum is filled with an assortment of Cords, Duesenburgs, (numerous, like the name implies) and various other collector cars. The displays are moved around , so the museum has a fresh look from year to year. Plan on spending some time so you can get the total experience!
