This was our second visit. We very much enjoyed our time there.

Admission for out of state guest to enter the park was $7 (car load). We walked the moderate hiking path. It was very nice with signs along the way and a Nature Center with bathrooms.

The dinning room is in the Inn of the resort. It is nice and casual. We had the brunch buffet for about $15 per person. It was nicely set up and offered a variety of selections. Everything seemed fresh. The service was fine. We had a table facing the lake. The gift shop there is very nice with lots of merchandise.

The state park has playgrounds for kids, walking trails, horseback riding, swimming, cabins for rent and picnic areas. We noticed that you can also rent paddle boats. Our day there was very relaxed and enjoyable. We will be going back maybe later this fall and may also go in the winter for the toboggan run.

Let me first say that the park and lake are beautiful, great scenery and good fishing. The problem is the Potawatomi Inn. The Inn itself is nice but here are the problems: First, of the six people we dealt with at the front desk two were pleasant while the other four didn't want to be there and it showed. Tried to engage the four in conversation and it was a painful experience as they could of cared less about customer service. Second was the restaurant. The food was decent but the service was ridiculous. For breakfast, it took ten minutes before a server came over to even take our order and trying to get coffee refills was a chore. Dinner was even worse, the dining room was not even busy and the guy we had as a server had the attitude of wanting to be anywhere but there. For the price, it is not worth staying here as long as the ones running this inn allow the workers to act the way the do. I would not and will not go back to this inn.

We've been coming here for 20 years for our family reunion ... beautiful state park. Very nice lodge with a decent restaurant ... close to the town of Angola so you can easily drive to town for meals. Very nice lake. You can rent boats, take a trail ride, hay ride (on weekends). Wonderful atmosphere. Low key. The lodge rooms are comfortable, nothing fancy. Consider the historic rooms or cabins to save on cost. Fun indoor swimming pool that is great for kids as it has a big shallow section. Also a fun craft room where you can create treasures!

If you want to stay in their lodge you need to make reservation more than a year in advance! The Ta bogon Slide is a great attraction. Make sure it is running if you go in the winter.
