It was not smoky as some reviews reported. Some slots were better than others. I liked the diamond Vault the best. Buffet was good not great but I plan to return.

“Group fun”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

This place is great to go with a group of friends. They have a delicious buffet and the drinks are very tasty as well. Betting on the horses is fun too. Especially if you win.

“Save your money”
Reviewed July 1, 2012

I dont know who's math they use to figure the payback scale but it just cant be true. There is no way they pay back what they say they do. The machine takes 90 percent and pays back maybe 10 percent. They dont even give you a chance to be happy. We were there for 2 hours and spent 90 cents a spin and blew threw 1,000 dollars.

You barely hit a bonus round ecspecially on the monopoly slots they are the worse. We actually got a bonus round in Monopoly that paid .60 on 15 spins???? Everyone was complaining about the same thing. Why not let people enjoy themselves and hit now and then. Save your money and get a slots game from best buy atleast you wont go broke playing that.

“Don't bother!”
Reviewed June 18, 2012

Having recently retired, I spent several months this spring visiting Indiana casinoes with several friends to get a feel for the advantages/disadvantages of each. Of the six casinoes we visited, Hoosier Park ranks at the very bottom.
Their buffet is below average, at best - the food is limp, tasteless and uninspired, the service lacking. You're better off spending your money or comps at the establishments in the upper food court or the deli in the casino, which offers decent food at reasonable prices.
There is no hotel at the facility, but if you spend enough they will put you up at one of the local chains about a mile away and shuttle you back and forth.
The payouts on the slots are absolutely abominable. Hoosier Park's widespread advertising that they are "the best paying slots in Indiana" rings hollow - the Attorney General should investigate them for false advertising. The mood in the casino is very ugly, as most patrons are absolutely disgusted and angry about the poor return on their playing dollars. Each of our subsequent visits was exactly the same - after the third strike, Hoosier Park was "out" and off our agenda for future visits.
The hosts are real friendly with you as a new player and comp you well on your first visit and the month following, but once they find out you're not going to be the highroller they thought, the friendliness and comps stop - real fast.
Overall, I would NOT recommend wasting your time visiting Hoosier Park - one of only two Indiana casinoes that I have visited and give a thumbs down to - the other being central Indiana's other "racino" - Indiana Live!, now known as the Grand. Apparently, the horse racing industry is not making these places enough money (their reason for requesting gaming permits), but they are both definitely making it back with their casinoes by ripping off their patrons.

“Tight slots, smokey air”
Reviewed June 18, 2012

I've been here a number of times and not sure why I keep going back. The slots seem to have been tightened up. Haven't won anything in the last few trips. Seems like you do get a lot of winning spins but not enough to cover your bet. I think they disabled the Spin feature on the Wheel of Fortune machines. And, I don't trust all the electronic card games. No different than the tight slots. WHY NOT JUST HAVE DEALERS! And, if Ohio can have a true no smoking ordinance and open smoke free casinos, why can't Indiana figure this out. Alot of backwards laws. But that's for another discussion. Did go to the harness races one Friday night. That was a MUCH more enjoyable outing. Much better atmosphere than the casino. Ate at the Johnny Rockets burger joint in the race track. By far, the worst burger I've ever had. Didn't even eat it all. I think the next planned casino trip will be to Toledo instead.
