“Perfect Last minute Midwest small town weekend getaway”
Reviewed November 16, 2010

Our trip was very last minute and we were lucky that Tammy, owner of the Brick Ark B&B had a room available. After we visited the Black Pine Animal Sanctuary we arrived at our B&B welcomed by the owner and just out of the oven baked cookies! Tammy was very sweet and helpful in sugessting places to visit. In the morning, Belgian Waffles, fresh fruit, you name it then off we were to walk around Chain of Lakes State Park and visit the historic home of Gene Stratton Porter. Beautiful even for late in the season. Can't wait to go back in the spring or summer. Unfortunately I have no camera and my boyfriend didn't take any pics. We're bad like that.

My boyfriend and I were lucky enough to stay at the Brick Ark inn one night while visiting Black Pine Animal Park in the same town. The owner was extremely gracious for our business and told us many wonderful things about her time starting the business and the town of Albion. It is in a perfect location, too. Across the street is a pizza place, The Whistle Stop, and the town hall. Within 2 blocks are 2 bars, an ice cream shop, a cafe and other little shops. Down the road one way you will find a Subway, a restaurant, bowling alley and laudromat and up the other way a Dairy Queen, grocery store and movie rental store. On Saturday morning there were several stands of garden fresh fruits and vegetables brought in by the local Amish communities. The room was lovely, too. We had our own full bathroom, closet, antique dresser and rocking chair. Again, could not say more positive things. Oh and she used homemade recipes for waffles and a warm apple dish! :o)
