Hotel was undergoing some sort of renovation but it didn't really take away from the experience. Staff was courteous and helpful at checkin and throughout the stay. The 24-hour coffee service in the lobby is pretty much standard in any hotel these days, but the ice water with fruit slices in it was a welcome addition for this non-coffee-drinker.

The room itself was clean and well-maintained. Everything worked, nothing was missing.

Rating was knocked down from a 5 to a 4 due to an overambitious housekeeper who wanted to clean my room before I was finished using it -- and before check-out time. I understand housekeepers want to hurry up and get their rooms done so they can go home, but this issue is pervasive throughout the industry. I fail to see the point of a "checkout time" -- not to mention a "Do Not Disturb" sign -- if they don't happen to fit into a housekeeper's schedule.

Beware - Members of my family were staying at the Courtyard Arlington Heights - South on 100 West Algonquin Road - Arlington Heights, IL on July 23rd and woke to find our cars full of water. According to a claim denial letter that I received from Marriott Claims Services, there is an issue with 'drainage in the hotel's parking lot' since 2005. Even with this knowledge when the lot started flooding, none of the staff bothered to alert my family to advise that the lot was beginning to flood. A BMW and Nissan Maxima were totaled by my insurance company due to the extensive water damage. In my claim denial letter, Marriott apologized for our inconvenience. As a Marriott guest and Platinum 'rewards' member I expected a little more. If the rains begin, better run for high ground.

Long user of Marriot chain hotels, i am a little disappointed with the Arlington Heights Courtyard. The reception was not clean, absolutely not inviting. We were there part of a weekend and it looked more a childrens playgroung then a class Marriott hotel. Running even in bathing suits. This not only childrens, which was rather appalling.
Room were ok, but windows and balcon VERY dirty. I.e. Never open the window or balcon door.
Breakfast was great with good service.
Reception as well.

Room Tip: 3rd floor at the back away from entrance

Stayed for four nights while in the vicinity for a family gathering. Clean and nicely furnished in line with other Courtyards I've stayed at. Quiet location conveniently located near the tollway and major streets. Lots of options for restaurants right nearby. Plenty of free parking.

Booked very last minute as part of an Expedia air-hotel-car package.

Would have preferred a hotel with comp breakfast and an in-room fridge - neither which is offered being a Courtyard.

The beds are super comfy - 5 soft cuddly pillows on each queen bed.

Room Tip: 2nd floor room in 2-floor building toward the back - super quiet.
