Seemed as though everything we went to see was shut down, remodeling or just plain shut down, probably won't go to Rockome Gardens again. We did like the store at the entrance!

my beloved child hood place has lost it`s glory! If you loved rock home before, donate or volunteer, to help save it. Yes it needs some help, the tornado that had hit Joplin ,hit rock home gardens! I to was shocked ,and promptly gave them my # and volunteered to help w gardens ,maintenance anything needed to help, We live 2 hrs from there ,but would once or twice a week, I thought prices in shops were to low and admission to high. Drop admission to like 12 a family! 5 single admission, So u go in a shop ,ring 50 cents ,necklace 1.00,huge ice cream in waffle cone 2.00 and a loaf of bread 2.00,huge bag of chips 2.99.Things where cheaper there then at walmart ! Lower admission ,raise prices of stuff inside, put up pictures of what it used to look like and pictures of damage and a mapped out plan and a donation box to help! People need to know they aren't being ripped off, when they see and understand what rock home has been, been thru and what it could be again, they will help! As for pony rides and draft horse rides, You need to lower price and PLEASE CHANGE OUT YOUR PONIES AND OFFER THEM WATER TO THEM ALL DAY AND TO ALL ANIMALS ! THEY CAN NOT WALK ALL DAY CHAIN THEM WHEN NOT IN USE! And PEOPLE THIS PLACE WAS NOT BUILT BY THE AMISH AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!! IT IS JUST IN A AMISH LOCATION AND THE AMISH OWNED IT FOR AWHILE!!!!!! AMISH DO WORK THERE ALSO! This will be a wonderful place to go, and save those 7up bottles ,they need 2,600 to rebuild bottle house, send them copies of old pics u may have ! I hope the owner and visitors read this!

Just didn't seem worth the cost to walk around. Nice shops. Some of the attractions were closed. They still have lots of work to do. Kids had fun in the tree house. Probably would not go back. The meat & cheese shop were awesome. You could easily spend an hour in there. They had fresh baked goods and candy.

Rockome Gardens is making a great comeback. The New Owners are restoring the park back to its original state. We had a lot of fun, learned alot about the Amish and just in general had a great time strolling the beautiful gardens. They have also added a stage and have wonderful Bluegrass Music. The shops are fun and the petting zoo even has a baby pony we got to pet and feed. It is great fun at a very modest cost. A great place to take the family. But beware of the Haunted Cavern......the werewolves might get you. I suggest when in Central Illinois this would be the place to go!

This was our second time to visit the Gardens as we had family in town and needed a place to go. It had improved since our first visit which was when the new owners first took over. If you soak in the craftsmanship of all the rock designs and appreciate it for what it is..... you will be very impressed. The entertainment offered for kids lacks and they really need to boost that up so you feel that the fee is worth it and you want to stay longer. More ways to educate the visitors about Amish traditions and beliefs would be nice as not all of us really understand what is behind their way of life and how it has evolved.
