Rockome Gardens is making a great comeback. The New Owners are restoring the park back to its original state. We had a lot of fun, learned alot about the Amish and just in general had a great time strolling the beautiful gardens. They have also added a stage and have wonderful Bluegrass Music. The shops are fun and the petting zoo even has a baby pony we got to pet and feed. It is great fun at a very modest cost. A great place to take the family. But beware of the Haunted Cavern......the werewolves might get you. I suggest when in Central Illinois this would be the place to go!

This was our second time to visit the Gardens as we had family in town and needed a place to go. It had improved since our first visit which was when the new owners first took over. If you soak in the craftsmanship of all the rock designs and appreciate it for what it is..... you will be very impressed. The entertainment offered for kids lacks and they really need to boost that up so you feel that the fee is worth it and you want to stay longer. More ways to educate the visitors about Amish traditions and beliefs would be nice as not all of us really understand what is behind their way of life and how it has evolved.

Last time we went, the gardens look horrible and not maintained. All of the little buildings throughout with closed and locked - not sure what the admission price was for since there was absolutely nothing to do there.

We went to Rockome gardens wtih my mother in law. The owner was driving the buggy because all the Amish were at a wedding. It was a fun day. My husband used to go there as a child. The owner told us all about the history and the obstacles he's had since he purchased it. (They had a fire in September). I hope it gets back to where it used to be it really is a treasure.

A lot of people really enjoy going to the gardens and getting to see Amish folks. For me, the place is simply too commercial and less about the gardens themselves.
