“Amazing waterfall that easy to get to”
Reviewed September 28, 2012

Mesa Falls has two waterfalls -- the upper falls and lower falls. The viewing ares for the falls are very accessible and do not require much walking to reach.

The upper falls pour over a shear cliff down 140 feet. You can get rather close to the upper falls from the walkway, it it offers great photographing angles from the overlook.

The overlook to the lower falls does not offer as great a view. To get close you'd have to hop the fence and bushwhack your way to the falls. This is NOT recommended. The gorge is steep and riddled boulders

“Trip to Idaho”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

While in Idaho, our friends took us for a drive and Mesa Falls was one of the places we went. Very nice falls and nice area for a drive.

“Spectacular views of the falls.”
Reviewed September 14, 2012

We drove the scenic route from Butte to Driggs. What a wonderful surprise to come across the upper and lower Mesa falls.
The higher falls were amazing and powerful and the way the boardwalk was arranged, it took you right up and close to the falls. There were boards explaining about the geology which I found interesting. I loved these falls so much, I didn't want to leave. We were so ompressed with the upper falls but glad that we went to see the lower falls which were smaller but equally impressive.

“An unexpected find”
Reviewed August 31, 2012

The owner of Rankin Motel told us about the falls, On our way to the Yellowstone Park entrance, we took the scenic byway. Stopped at both the Lower and Upper Falls view points. Two awesome falls, both are some of the biggest falls I have seen in the West. Well worth the drive (which did not add much mileage to our trip to Yellowstone).

“Absolutely Beautiful!”
Reviewed August 2, 2012

My husband and I have been to a lot of waterfalls all over the world but have never had an opportunity to (safely) stand on top of one and watch the water fall right below us. It is so great how the Upper Falls viewing platform juts out just over the top of the falls. We took a detour on our way to Yellowstone and were so glad we did. From Ashton, we took Hwy 47 east and then north on the scenic byway. It was a beautiful drive and only added about 15 min to our itinerary. I think they charged a couple dollars to park but it was well worth it!
