“Whatever is your religion it is a place to visit.”
Reviewed April 19, 2012

If you visit the West coast of Oahu Island, do not forget to stop and visit the valley of the Temples.
The buddhist temple worth the visit by itself but all the ground around and all the worship places all around are so full of peace. So much way to care for the love ones who are gone.
But please be respectful of what others believe in.

“Well worth a Visit”
Reviewed April 7, 2012

This is one of the best things Oahu has on offer if you actually know about it! Thats the downfall its not widely advertised and I stumbled over it surfing the net to see what I could do while here on business. It really is a very peaceful and relaxing place, just perfect for some down time away from it all. With beautiful gardens, that are bound to take your breath away. I went here with a work college and it really was a wonderful place to visit for some well needed down time away from the noise of Honolulu. I would highly recommend this place for those who need a little time away from the noise and speed of Honolulu

“Peaceful Place for Contemplation”
Reviewed March 22, 2012

This is a very quiet and serene location that doesn't seem to be on the main path of tourist locations but is a breathe of fresh air after the hustle and bustle of Honolulu. The Byodo-In temple is very peaceful and visually pleasing. This makes for a very relaxing stroll during the day.

“Enjoyed visiting this beautiful temple”
Reviewed February 25, 2012

We did a day tour of the island and I choose one that included a visit to this temple. On approaching the temple, there is a cemetery of Japanese tombstones. Some have engravings of pure gold. On the way to the temple, there is a gong that you can use a lever to sound. It is quite heavy. There is a huge statue of Buddha in the temple with incense and flowers in front. You are requested to remove your shoes before entering. It is a very tranquil setting and a reminder of the Japanese influence in Hawaii. A memorable visit.

“Beautiful and serene”
Reviewed January 10, 2012

Although some children might appreciate the beauty of this place, it isn't the place for running or shouting. The cemetery is beautiful with rows upon rows of colorful flowers marking the headstones. The temples and location combine to create a place for quiet contemplation. At the back of the valley sits Byodo-In, a magnificent and gorgeous Buddhist temple that is a smaller replica of an ancient temple in Uji, Japan.
