how can anyone not like the North Shore, it's legendary with 30-40 foot surf at times in the winter. The best surfing in the world with Sunset, Waimea, Pipeline. Even if you are not a surfer, sit and watch, it's fascinating.

The little beach town of Haleiwa has character and is always busy. Love to each shave ice and people watch. The beaches are amazing, pipe at banzai is great in the winter! Waimea Bay and Falls are beautiful and a great place to see and chill at.

I preferred Three Tables to all other snorkeling spots on Oahu, including Hanauma Bay. We saw a wide variety of fish and it wasn't overcrowded. There was also a nice beach. It was a little rocky near the shorline, but much more manageable than Shark's Cove.

We stayed in Waikiki so we rented a car and made a day trip out to the North Shore Beaches. North Shore of Oahu is lot more rustic as compared to very modern and busy Waikiki. Started with Laniakea Beach, where we were luckly to see about 10-12 green sea turtles on the beach and made various stops on Kamehameha Highway on the way back to Waikiki - Waimea Bay Beach Park, Pupukea Beach , Sunset Beach. On the way , grabbed a quick bite to eat at Ted's Bakery, close to the Sunset beach. If you reach around later in the afternoon , not all items on the menu may be available
Driving on the the highway on the western side of the island has many amazing views of the mountains and the sea

It's nice to get away from Waikiki. Haleiwa is laid-back. We have lunch at Jameson's, inside in the bar with the locals who are friendly. We always have wonderful conversation and learn new things by chatting it up there. We also love to watch the huge waves crashing it at the Turtle Bay resort, from the pool bar.
